Exactly two months ago yesterday, spy photographer Brian Williams captured the 2022 Corvette Z06 as it was entering the main entrance to GM’s Proving Grounds in Milford, MI. The prototype Corvette was under decent acceleration and you could hear a totally different sound from the camouflaged vehicle than that of the Stingray’s 495-hp LT2 V8 that we’ve become accustomed to.

It’s hard not to like the enthusiasm of 20-year-old YouTube car vlogger Speed Phenom, who owns a C8 Corvette and a Shelby GT500.
Today, Speed Phenom gives us some insight into the new second-gen Acura NSX, a competitor of the new mid-engine Corvette, or perhaps more accurately one of the C8’s electrified versions rumored to be in the works at GM.
The only general manager the National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park has ever known will be retiring sometime next year.
To make sure the transition goes smoothly, the organization is already advertising for Mitch Wright’s successor.
Our incessant scouring of internet Corvettes for sale recently turned up this unique 1973 coupe for being offered in Pennsylvania. Why are we featuring a 1973 Corvette you ask? Because this one is reported to have been painted Tuxedo Black by the factory. Why is that a big deal you ask? Because Tuxedo Black wasn’t a regular production option in 1973.
It’s Race Week and the Corvette C8.Rs will be in action at Virginia International Raceway for a GT-only sprint race. With no prototypes on the track this weekend, it opens the possibility for the Corvettes to be the overall winners of the Michelin GT Challenge.
Now that General Motors has produced some 8,000 examples of the new mid-engine 2020 Corvette Stingray, we are starting to see one-off examples show up for sale in other countries. At some point, the company will be exporting these cars with regularity but we are not expecting to see that until sometime in the 2nd half of 2021 or even into 2022.

Good news and bad about an unusual Corvette in Pennsylvania.
Police in Erie, Pa., have recovered a unique orange and white 1976 Corvette believed to have been stolen Sunday by joyriding teens.
“All Corvettes Are Red” is the name of a popular book that details the behind-the-scenes work responsible for the fifth-generation 1997 Corvette.
That adage will also be especially true at the upcoming 13th annual Auburn Auction over the Labor Day weekend in Auburn, Ind., where seven Corvettes in The Red Collection are slated to go on the block – all at no reserve – on Sept. 5.
Last night we were glad to hear that GM had issued a recall notice for the 2020 Corvettes to address the “Flying Frunk” issue. But not long after we posted that news did we learn that Chevy doesn’t actually have software update ready for owners to download and apply the fix. A Chevy spokesperson updated their statement with us last night regarding the recall to say that “GM is finalizing a software repair.” Unfortunately, we do not yet have a time frame on when it will be available.
