The 2022 Corvettes will arrive in Europe this October

European Corvette customers are now getting their first look at the new C8 Corvette as Chevrolet is offering both traditional and Right-Hand Versions of the popular American sports car for the European market. The first-ever Right-Hand Drive version was unveiled last week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England with Chevrolet ambassador Oliver Gavin on hand to help with the reveal as the video below shows.

Although Oliver Gavin has officially retired from racing, he’s still a member of the Corvette family as a Chevrolet Brand Ambassador for Europe. In this new video from Michelin, Oliver meets up with fellow race car driver Oli Webb who is a brand ambassador for Michelin tires. The two drivers get together during the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England where they will be driving the Z51 Coupe on the famous Goodwood Hill Climb, but first, they do some preliminary track testing of the new European-spec C8 Corvette Stingray that will go on sale later this year.

Corvette Falls From List of Fastest Selling New Cars in June

After spending most of 2021 at or near the top of the iSeeCar’s monthly list of Fastest-Selling New Cars, the Chevrolet Corvette failed to crack the Top 20 for new cars in June 2021. Taking the top spot with a 9.5 average days to sell is the Toyota Rav 4 followed by the Kia Telluride at 10.5 days and the Toyota Tacoma rounds out the top three with 10.6 days.

In addition to overseeing the PDI work when the new Corvettes arrive from the assembly plant, Shane also helps to coordinate the delivery dates with the new owners about a month before the delivery is scheduled to happen. In the crazy environment of COVID and plant shutdowns affecting Corvette sales over the last year, you can imagine what a difficult job it has been.

Non-Z51 customers can go without a spoiler, or add the optional High Wing, while Z51 customers can choose between the standard Z51 Wing Spoiler or the optional High Wing.
