This Dealer Installed Emblem Might Become One of the Rarest Options for 2027

First introduced in 2026 and then carried over for the 2027 model year is the (R88) Illuminated Cross Flags emblem for C8 Corvettes. These special emblems are dealer installed (LPO) and the edges are illuminated which makes it appear like its floating above the exterior. I have only seen a photo of it once but never a real-life example, and that leads us to today’s distribution update for the 2027 Corvettes.

For the second year in a row, Chevrolet’s Illuminated Crossed Flags Emblem has been “footnoted” in the 2027 Corvette Order Guide across all six current models as “Not available at this time.” That means the item is on a longer than expected constraint, and it’s unknown when the badge will be added back to the model year ordering later on.

But unlike last year, we do have a small number of Corvettes that were able to order the option on their 2027 Corvettes before the item was listed as unavailable. Checking both C8 Tracker and GM Build Counts, we see that 48 Corvettes will have this rare dealer-installed option at a cost of $695.

The Corvette engineers did share a picture of it during their Saturday presentation at the NCM Bash, and it looks like this:

I am betting that these can’t be retrofitted either. And frankly, I am kinda jealous!

This reminds us of the (CF8) Electrochromic Roofs that were also introduced in 2026 (along with the Illuminated Cross Flags Emblem) and just a few dozen roofs were produced before it got footnoted in the ’26 Order Guide and was no longer available. Like the emblems, the roof was offered again in 2027 but it got footnoted early in the model year before any could be ordered.

If you are one of the 48 that got this rare (R88) Illuminated Cross Flags Emblem option, please send me photos! I would love to see how it looks both in the daytime and illuminated at night. You can send them to [email protected].

Distribution Guide

In other news, it looks like there will also be an extended wait for the dealer-installed (5ZZ) Carbon Flash Painted High Wing for the Stingray model. It received a footnote as being “Not available at this time.” The High Wing was still showing up on the 2027 Stingray Configurator as of Monday with a price tag of $1,550. Based on this distribution update, it appears that the painted versions are still available, but Carbon Flash is not. This comes on the heels of the Stingray’s Z51 spoiler that was experiencing constraints early in the model year.
