This Red Mist 2024 Corvette Stingray carries a unique distinction: it’s one of the official Festival Cars from the 2024 Indianapolis 500 made available to the public. Now, the rare convertible is up for sale on Craigslist out of Mendon, Massachusetts, with an asking price of $82,977.
According to the seller, the first two Festival Cars were spoken for immediately — one delivered to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum and the other to the Penske family, owners of the Indy 500. That makes this example No. 3 of just 11 Stingrays produced for parade and event duties during the 2024 race festivities.
Chevrolet built 50 total vehicles for the 2024 Indy 500 fleet:
• 11 Corvette Stingrays
• 4 Blazer RS models
• 35 Silverado 1500 RST 4WD Crew Cabs
This particular Corvette is a 3LT Z51 convertible with Natural interior, showing just 1,506 miles. With an original sticker of $102,885, the car includes $14,140 worth of options – including the Z51 Performance Package, Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Carbon Fiber Interior Trim, Carbon Flash Painted Nacelles, 20-spoke gloss black forged aluminum wheels, black exhaust tips and lug nuts, and carbon flash metallic painted outside mirrors.
The seller describes it as “fully loaded with every option imaginable” – though regrettably Front Lift is missing – and emphasizes its collectability as an official Indy 500 Festival Car. It’s being offered through Imperial Chevrolet in Mendon and comes as a Certified Pre Owned vehicle, extending the bumper to bumper warranty to 4 years/48,000 miles and the powertrain coverage to 6 years/100,000 miles.
The listing encourages collectors to take notice, noting that Festival Cars have long been sought after due to their limited production and direct ties to the Greatest Spectacle in Racing.
With the Camaro exiting production for 2025, Chevrolet reshaped its traditional 50 vehicle Festival lineup. Since 2009, Camaros had been a staple of the Indy 500 parade fleet, often making up the entire group. For 2024, the honor shifted to a mix of Corvettes, Blazers, and Silverado RST trucks.
All vehicles in the fleet wore red paint — Red Mist for the Corvettes and Radiant Red for the SUVs and trucks — along with special door and quarter panel graphics and numbered windshield decals matched to commemorative license plates.
The Silverado RST models, built in Fort Wayne, feature a 420 hp 6.2 liter V8, 10 speed automatic, Jet Black leather interior, dual active exhaust, and 22 inch gloss black wheels. During May 2024, they were used by IMS officials, Penske VIPs, law enforcement, and 500 Festival board members.
The official pace car of the 2024 Indy 500 was a 2024 Corvette E-Ray, which led the field to the green flag for the 108th running of the race on May 26, 2024.
