Registration is Now Open for the 55th Annual Black Hills Corvette Classic

Registration is now open for the 55th Annual Black Hills Corvette Classic! From July 15th through the 18th, the 4-day event offers a unique driving experience through the beautiful and challenging roads of South Dakota. This year’s classic also celebrates 250 years of American Independence with the Road to Rushmore.

Started in 1979 by the Sioux Falls Corvette Club as a weekend getaway, the Black Hills Corvette Classic is now one of the longest-running Corvette events in the country, drawing enthusiasts from across North America. The club continues to operate the Classic with the help of the Spearfish Club and Convention Center, and other sponsors.

The Black Hills Corvette Classic features a 400-mile caravan across South Dakota, with three car shows, two giveaways, scenic drives, guided tours, poker runs, and a racing competition planned throughout the event.

The fun begins on the east side of the state on Wednesday with a welcoming event at Jerry’s Chevrolet & Corvette Center in Beresford, SD. Thursday morning kicks off the 400-mile caravan to Spearfish, SD, for the remaining events through Saturday.

The trip to Spearfish includes a stop at Al’s Oasis for brunch in Chamberlain, SD. There are plenty of sightseeing opportunities along the way, including The Corn Palace, Pioneer Auto Museum, Wall Drug, the Minuteman Missile National Historic Site, Prairie Dog Town, 1880 Train, and the Badlands.

Be sure not to miss Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road, with its 314 curves, 14 switchbacks, 3 pigtails, 3 tunnels, 2 splits, and 4 Presidents over the course of 17 miles of road. Prizes will be awarded to those who prevail in the Poker Run.

Along with the car show at the welcome event, two more shows are scheduled along the way if you need a break from the road: Hot Summer Nites in Sioux Falls and Vette Street USA in Spearfish, SD. Entrants at each car show compete for the Top 10 Best of Show awards. Sign up your vette today!

  1. Of you’re lucky enough to go, be sure to include Crazy Horse monument. It probably won’t ever be finished but enough is done to marvel at the idea. And Crazy Horse was a very interesting person. If he lived now, he’d have a ZR1X and F40 in his garage.

  2. Hi just wanted to show you my love of corvettes. I make artwork out of engine parts. I don’t have a website ,I only sell at car shows.
