Just One Corvette included in GM's Stop Sale Order Over Missing Owner's Manuals

Here is one of the strangest Stop Sale Orders we’ve seen from General Motors in our time here. The reason for it is due to these vehicles missing their owner’s manual according to title of the document sent to Chevrolet dealers. When it comes to Corvettes, this Stop Sale notice impacts the sale of exactly one 2026 Corvette Z06.

The Stop Sale notification includes nine different Chevrolet models, as well as those from Buick, Cadillac and GMC. The reason for it is noncompliance over missing owner’s manuals. If you’re thinking, “wait a minute, Chevy stopped including paper owner’s manuals several years ago,” that’s true. But apparently there is a digital copy available within the infotainment center which can be viewed on the Corvette’s right screen.

The fix is really simple and requires a reboot of the radio, and then the missing owner’s manual should be available under the Settings menu.

Dealers were sent a list of impacted VINs which totaled just over 500 vehicles. The Z06 in question is VIN #1632 and was/is offered through MacMulkin Corvette.

Glad to hear the impact to owners/buyers was infinitesimally low and the fix is easy.

The Z06 was recently impacted by another Stop Sale order during 2025 caused by an excess fuel spillage issue that can happen during refueling. GM’s fix included a new spilled fuel diverter insert which took several months to produce and install on those new Z06 vehicles being held at dealers. A recall for that fuel issue was sent out to over 23,000 Corvette owners for all C8 Z06s produced between 2023-2025.
