Sometimes the grass isn’t greener on the other side.
Just ask the owner of this 2009 Corvette Z06.
He bought it in July, drove it about 2,000 miles, and has now put it up for sale on Bring a Trailer.
The reason?
“It feels too similar to my old C5 Z06,” he says, adding that he “was expecting more of a power bump when upgrading.”
Plus, he needs the garage space to work on his other car this winter, he points out.
Regardless of his disappointment with the expected performance compared to the 385- or 405-horsepower C5 Z06, most people would likely think this 2LZ Z06 has plenty of power, with its 7.0-liter LS7 V8 engine that pumps out 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque.
Mechanically, the car remains stock, with no engine enhancements added, according to the owner.
Some upgrades have been performed elsewhere, however, including a Kenwood touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and aftermarket taillights and side markers.
There’s no argument about the beauty of this beast as the Jetstream Blue paint is simply stunning, especially in some of the professional photos included with the listing. That shade looks great against the Ebony and Titanium leather interior, which appears to be in near-flawless condition.
Not surprising, since the car has been driven only 20,000 miles. About the only imperfections, at least pointed out by the owner, are a few very minor scrapes on the right side and underside of the front bumper cover.
Other features include head-up display, heated power-adjustable seats, six-speed manual transmission, power-adjustable steering column, steering wheel audio controls (that still work with the aftermarket system), push-button start, cruise control, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
Would this “beautiful beast” be powerful enough for you?
