Now that the first of October has passed and fall is in full swing, Halloween is just around the corner. The holiday, loved by people of all ages, is traditionally celebrated door-to-door as the community dresses in their costumes and prepares to hand out candy to the neighborhood kids.

Trunk-or-treat, also known as Halloween tailgating, is a car-centered twist on classical trick-or-treating that has grown in popularity over the last few years. Instead of haunted houses and pumpkin-lined porches, cars are decorated for the occasion and visited by costumed candy seekers.

This spooky season, the NCM Motorsports Park announced the beginning of Haunted Horsepower, an annual Halloween event perfect for the whole family. This year, the event will take place on Saturday, October 11th, from 4-6 PM.

“This event is all about creating a safe and exciting environment for families to enjoy Halloween while celebrating the car culture that makes Bowling Green so unique,” said Ashley White, Experiential Coordinator at NCM Motorsports Park. “From the decorated Corvettes to the creative displays from our community partners, it’s an experience both kids and adults can look forward to.”

Haunted Horsepower, featuring spooky sports cars and candy giveaways, was made possible by the contributions of local businesses and community members.

“We’re thrilled to partner with BB Auto Shop to bring this event to life,” said Morgan Watson, Marketing Manager at NCM Motorsports Park. “Their support helps us showcase not only the creativity of our community but also the welcoming spirit of the NCM Motorsports Park. We can’t wait to see everyone out here.”

In addition to BB Auto Club, Haunted Horsepower is also sponsored by Big Country Power Sports, Bowling Green Municipal Utilities (BGMU), Bowling Green Police Department, Division Street Tattoo Company, and Men’s Health of Bowling Green.
