Effortless Motors is the company that undertook stretching a C8 Corvette Z06 by 20 inches to accommodate the frame of their “largest” client, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neil. We’ve all seen the video of the car being delivered and Shaq taking the car out for a drive, but many of us wanted to know more about exactly what was done to modify it.
The guys from Effortless Motors are back with Shaq’s “SuperVette” and they have two standard C8 Corvette Stingrays in the showroom that offers an easier way to contrast the differences of Shaq’s Z06 to those of the regular Corvettes.
The car was stretched by 20 inches and then a number of other changes had to be factored in including new doors, upholstery, and new door glass (which we saw had cracked during the first video.) The seats were also lowered by another three inches so that Shaq’s head could fit in the car. Another change was a much larger steering wheel as the standard wheel in Shaq’s hands makes it look like a golf cart steering wheel.
To showcase some of the differences, a tape measure was brought out and used to show some of the differences between the standard C8 Stingray and Shaq’s SuperVette. For example, he shows the Z51 wing being 57 inches (not the most precise measurements were taken) and then he measures the wing on the SuperVette and it’s 74.5 inches wide. Shaq’s Corvette also retains a removable roof panel but it’s much larger. The tape measure shows it was modified to be 12 inches longer than then standard removeable roof panel which are 24 inches. They also measure the length of the new center console and its 54 inches long.
While the tape measure at least gives us some clues to the build of the car, I think most of us were hoping for an actual build video showing how the car was lengthened and how they fabricated those components on Shaq’s SuperVette.

Not all Corvettes are built the same—and when you’re 7’1” like Shaquille O’Neal, the standard Z06 just won’t cut it. That’s why we took a brand-new Corvette Z06 and stretched it a full 20 inches to create a one-of-one supercar built for a legend.

Big guy. Wonder if the top comes off for more headroom.
