[VIDEO] Cleveland Browns Fan Transforms a C5 Corvette into the Ultimate Tailgate Machine

This crazy customized Corvette is nearly enough to make us switch allegiances to the Cleveland Browns.

But not quite. Go, Falcons! (Editor’s note: Go Bucs!)

Nevertheless, you’ve probably never seen a more flamboyant display of fandom than this 2004 Corvette convertible dedicated solely to the Browns.

When Cleveland opens the season Sunday afternoon at home against the Dallas Cowboys, Raymond Prisby and his very cool Corvette will be among the many tailgaters in the Muni Lot of Huntington Bank Field. In an interview this week with Cleveland19 reporter Katie Tercek, he was already getting ready days early, with four rock guitars propped against the rear bumper, a flatscreen TV blaring old-game highlights atop a portable stand, and his Lambo-style car doors reaching into the sky. His customized Cleveland Browns license plate even reads “SHOWDG,” short for his “Show Dawg” nickname that’s also painted on the fuel filler lid.

When the Air Force veteran retired from General Motors four years ago, he bought the then-Magnetic Red II Corvette convertible and promptly set about adding lots of his own personal touches to the car, starting with a repaint naturally enough in Cleveland’s orange and brown colors. He’s since added custom taillights surrounded with brown, along with beautiful action murals from a Cleveland artist under the hood and trunk lid.

“I never had tattoos on my body,” he explains. “I figure I would tattoo my car.”

Indeed he has, asking dozens of Cleveland players to autograph his car on the dash, the waterfall, door panels, basically anywhere they could find.

“Myles Garrett was like my white whale,” Prisby explained of the five-time Pro Bowl defensive end for the Browns. “He was like the last one that I couldn’t get.”

But Prisby is not one to give up. He heard about a celebrity softball game and took the under-hood piece already decorated with a mural of Garrett in action, wearing #95, into the stadium with him.

“Bernie Kosar was standing next to me, so I said, ‘Bernie, could you please go over to Myles and tell him I want this signed for my car?’ He took my pen, signed it, and that was that.”

While he is actually from Youngstown, Ohio, a town where the population is split down the middle with Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers fans, Prisby leaves no doubt as to his allegiance.

“I was born a Browns fan,” he says. “My mother told me when I was born and the doctor picked me up to smack me on my butt, I looked up and seen he had a Steeler mask on. I smacked him before he smacked me!”
