The National Corvette Museum announced last week that two new weeks of Assembly Plant Tours have been added to the calendar. This is a rare opportunity to see how America’s Favorite Sports Cars are produced! If you are in the area or will be during the weeks of September 29th through October 10th, visit the NCM and get your Assembly Plant Tour tickets today!

I had the opportunity to take a tour of the Corvette Assembly Plant during the NCM 31st Anniversary Celebration and it’s always a great experience. One of the things that stuck out was how many new Roswell Green Corvettes are being produced. We were told that since the color was not on constraint they wanted to get many new examples out and onto dealer lots. A representative from the assembly plant said the same will likely happen with Blade Silver in the coming weeks as well.

I also saw three ZR1s while doing the tour. Two of them were on the assembly line while the third was fully completed and waiting at the very end. The one VIN I saw for the ZR1s was number 087 which was a Black ZR1, but it was early in its production so that’s all I can tell you about it.

The NCM didn’t have any examples of the new Silver Matte exterior color that is going on the new ZR1X Quail Silver Limited Edition models, but there was a “painted frog” featuring the exclusive new color that was displayed on the wall with the other 10 exterior colors as the tour visited the Paint Shop.

Plant tours have been highly restricted due to all the “classified” work that was being done, so it’s good to have some additional dates out there for enthusiasts who want to see how these fantastic machines are made. The cost to attend a tour is $35 for NCM Members while non-member tours are $50 each. To get your tickets, click here to visit the NCM Plant Tours page.
