Roughly 20 years ago, on one of the days leading up to the Woodward Dream Cruise, Larry Courtney saw a large group of Mustangs parading down world renowned Woodward Avenue. Seeing this, he thought why couldn’t we do this with Corvettes?
And that’s how the concept of Corvettes on Woodward was born.
Since then, every year on the Wednesday before the Woodward Dream Cruise, Larry’s event, Corvettes on Woodward has brought together hundreds of Corvettes to support local charities. What began as a single-day gathering has grown into a multi-day bender for Corvette lovers leading into the Woodward Dream Cruise.
The 2025 event returned to the M1 Concourse in Pontiac and was the kickoff for their annual Woodward Dream Festival. Around 10am, under gray clouds, Corvettes began rolling in. Within a couple of hours, 121 red, white, and blue Corvettes had morphed into a Corvette-themed American Flag.

At 11am the gates opened to the public and Corvettes of all colors as the clouds slowly cleared to review a sunny, hot Michigan afternoon. It wasn’t long before hundreds of Corvettes filled the spacious M1 Concourse grounds. Corvettes on Woodward’s new location offers the opportunity for more vendors and displays, with more than 10 on site this year including NCM Insurance, Nowicki Autosport, Lingenfelter, Les Stanford Chevrolet, our good friend Rick Conti, and more. Inside the air-conditioned conference center, they offered a slot car track for the kiddos (and grownups too), a cool working 1965 Corvette cutaway display, racing simulators, and a magician performing great feats of mystery throughout the afternoon.
Naturally, all proceeds from the event go to local charities as well as the M1 Foundation. As things wound down, participants began to work their way out onto Woodward Avenue to cruise alongside thousands of other auto enthusiasts. Another great Motor City staple event was in the books! We’ll see you out there again next year.
Corvettes on Woodward continues to be a great laid-back event. There’s no judging, no awards, and no trophies. It’s just like-minded Corvette folks coming together for a good cause and general revelry. Just show up, wander around, check out hundreds of Corvettes, and do some good for the neighborhood.
