The owner of this 1968 big-block 427 Corvette coupe calls it an “absolute incredible Vette” in his Craigslist ad for his first-year C3 located in Clinton, New Jersey.
He insists that this Cordovan Maroon T-top Stingray, like a fine wine, only gets better with age and argues that the big-block C3s have had the greatest return on investment the past 20 years.
Accordingly, after having driven the car only 222 miles since a frame-off restoration in 2012, he’s now asking $95,000 for his matching-numbers beauty that had only 44,374 miles when all that work was undertaken.
Not many details are provided in the listing, so we don’t know for sure which 427 is installed in this car. Regardless of the choice, it’s pumping out a minimum of 390 horsepower in the L36, all the way up to 435 in the L71.
Photos with the listing seem to indicate that the paint remains in top-notch shape, and the black vinyl interior with teakwood steering wheel (not an option in ’68, by the way) is likewise immaculate.
Other features include an AM/FM radio, but with an aim solely for maximum performance, you will also find a Muncie four-speed manual transmission but no A/C or power windows.
Nevertheless, you’d think on a car with an asking price near $100K would be photographed in nicer condition, though, as the under hood presentation leaves much to be desired and the interior needs a detailing, including a vacuuming of the carpet.
While we like the color of this car, we’re not sure we like It enough to part with that much money. Do you feel the same way?

Looks like a very clean 435hp L71 with the tri carbs replaced with L-88 hood, intake and single four barrel carb.
Either Joe Biden is selling this or the owner is sniffing glue in the backyard.
