It looks like we’ve come to end of this series with Christian Wheeler’s Arctic White 2025 Corvette ZR1 taking on the world at an Orlando, Florida drag strip. Previously, the ZR1 has raced the Lamborghini Revuelto, a Tesla Plaid, and a Porsche 911 Turbo S at the Orlando Speed World drag strip. And now in this final matchup, the ZR1 faces the speedy and lightweight McLaren 750S.
The races were filmed together during one very hot day in late June or early July, and the conditions weren’t great for the ZR1 which would eventually show signs of heat soak. But Christian was still game in putting his Corvette up against these world-beaters and despite the hot day, the ZR1 was running consistent times until the end.
The specs show the tuned McLaren 750S making 1,000-hp, and it’s also equipped with active aero and weighs at least 800-lbs lighter than the ZR1. It’s also costs twice as much as the ZR1 with an MSRP of $400K. Of the four sports cars racing the ZR1 on this day, we would think the McLaren would be the scariest to line up against at the drag strip.

What we saw from this best of three races is that the ZR1 launches extremely well and in fact took the lead in all three races with the McLaren. However, it was the McLaren that won all three races easily thanks to its top-end speed which saw the car easily catch up the ZR1 before blowing by it. If there is any positive aspects for the ZR1, its the fact that its very consistent with all three races finishing at 10.0XX seconds. You can see the times here:

I’m not sure of the relevance here. The McLaren was modified. Very nice, very light and very quick car, but modified. I don’t get the point of these things if it isn’t stock car to stock car. Should we line the ZR1 up against a top fuel dragster next to see what happens? C’mon…
Guy needs a lot of clicks to pay for that ZR1 he is wearing out. Next video will be I got a check engine light and the Chevy dealer doesn’t know what to do.
The new ZR1 is getting a lot of excuses as to why it seems less than what we expected. “The drivers was bad.” “It was too hot.” I know this ZR1 ran against a modified McLaren – why? Wheeler may not be very bright. So far, I’ve yet to see anything on the ZR1 or ZR1X that makes them special other than not being able to win. Ten seconds and 140 mph is disappointing.

You are trying to compare apples to oranges.The Mclaren is highly modified compared to this stock corvette
You dont drag race a ZR1 with the ZTK package! That wing is great on a road course, like Grattan or VIR. Come without the wing next time. Im sure the Vette’s top end is higher than the McLaren’s.
