Corvettes for Sale: 12K-Mile 2004 Corvette Z06 Commemorative Edition On Bring a Trailer

When the fifth-generation Corvette was nearing the end of its eight-year run, Chevy decided to send the C5 off with a bang with the 2004 Commemorative Edition that also celebrated Corvette’s back-to-back class victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

It was just an appearance package for the base coupe and convertible and Z06 hardtop coupe but resulted in one of the most instantly recognizable Corvettes ever built with its Le Mans Blue paint with silver and red decal stripes on the roof, deck lid, and carbon-fiber hood, special badging, and specific wheels.

Now, one of the only 2,025 Z06 CEs from 2004 is being offered on Bring a Trailer, where the highest offer on this 12,000-mile beauty has already climbed to $22,405 with six days left in the auction.

The seller says he’s torn about selling the car but he doesn’t drive it that much (only 300 miles) and would rather use the money for household projects and to free up space in his garage.

Still, he calls his Z06 “a phenomenal car that someone will really enjoy.”

No doubt about that, considering that the car is a performance powerhouse – unleashing 405 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque with its LS6 V8 engine based on the LS1 but upgraded with a refined aluminum block, higher-lift camshaft, 10.5:1 compression ratio, and increased air and oil flow.

All the Z06s were mated to a six-speed manual transmission and 3.42:1 limited-slip differential. Only available as chassis-stiffening fixed-roof coupes, they also included a quad titanium exhaust, weight-saving thinner glass, reduced sound deadening, and a larger front stabilizer bar, increased damping, and higher spring rate compared to the base model.

This one also includes aftermarket additions like ceramic coating, paint protection film on the front half and lower areas susceptible to rock chips, Hurst shifter, hood insulation pad with embroidered Corvette logo, and Kenwood touchscreen head unit with Bluetooth.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Foster Chevrolet of Sandusky, Ohio, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total vehicle price of $57,335.

The Z06 suspension featured a larger front stabilizer bar, increased damping, and a higher spring rate than the standard Corvette. The car is equipped with active handling and traction control systems, speed-sensitive rack-and-pinion power steering, and ventilated disc brakes at all four corners.
