This week was an allocation week for the 2026 Corvette model year and ordering will start next week with this July order cycle.
We could only talk to a couple of our dealer friends yesterday before boarding a plane to fly to Texas for this weekend’s Corvette Invasion show. This is the second order cycle for the 2026 model year and we are hearing that the number of Corvettes allocated to dealers was much, much lower than expected.
That’s somewhat surprising as the 2026 features a new interior that appears to have been well-received from enthusiasts. We are expecting to see a bump in orders as Corvette owners upgrade to the new model year, but orders don’t go through if there aren’t enough allocations to go around. So, those who want a new car will have to wait for the next month. Rinse and Repeat!
Also, no ZR1 allocations this month, so currently the only ZR1s in the system for 2026 are those 101 ZR1 orders which our friend Rick ‘Corvette’ Conti found that were rolled over from the 2025 model year. They are at status 3000 Order Accepted and will be the first cars off the line for the upcoming model year.
A dealer memo accompanied the allocations this week and dealers were briefed on those three new Aero/Wheel/Brake packages for the Z06. Here is that screen shot thanks to Rick!
The memo confirms once again that the 2026s will start Monday, August 4th and we also supposed to get the 2026 Configurator online sometime in August as well, but no date was available for when that will happen.
Rick also spends a few minutes talking about ZR1 production and where we are. Unfortunately, the news isn’t encouraging as only 4 new ZR1s have been built this week as of Wednesday and we are still waiting to see what the result was from Thursday which should be out shortly from Roger Kiel’s C8 production tracker.
And finally, next week we will also have the latest constraints from Chevrolet so stay tuned for that. Here’s Rick’s video on these allocations and ZR1 production:
