Editor’s Note: This post was updated with new photos of Roswell Green in the Sun!

Our Detroit spy photographer recently snapped these pics of a 2026 Corvette Z06 in the new Roswell Green. The car was spied entering a GM facility in the Detroit area. Like many of the previous photos we have seen of Corvettes painted in Chevy’s new green hue, the pics were taken during a summer shower. However, new photos of the car in the sun have just appeared as well, so let’s take a closer look:

We’ve been lucky to see this color in person a couple of weeks back when we were in Bowling Green for the ZR1X reveal. We saw two Roswell Green Corvettes parked outside the Corvette Assembly Plant and it was raining on that day as well. At least we finally got a great look at it while inside the plant as there was a new 2026 Corvette ZR1X also shown in the new Roswell Green color. That show car was displayed under the LED lights of the factory and it caused the paint to literally come alive with a gold metallic sheen.

Yet, when photographed outside on a rainy day, the metallic properties of Roswell Green are gone and the paint becomes this darker, flat-looking pastel green. Many of the 10 colors on the current colors do the same. My Hysteria Purple turns a dark grape in the rain, while the same could be said for Sebring Orange and Rapid Blue as they lose their metallic shine once the sun goes away.

And it’s not a bad thing that this happens as it’s almost like having two different exterior looks for the car. But buyers need to be aware of it as the color displays a bit differently than what we see on Chevrolet’s mini-configurator on its Upcoming 2026 Corvette page:

So going back to these new spy photos. Our photographer shared the following, “We finally got our first real-world look at the 2026 Corvette, coated in its new Roswell Green paint color. Unfortunately, this first encounter came during a torrential downpour, but the true vibe of the new hue still comes through.

Green hasn’t been a popular color for the Corvette in these modern times, but it was pretty big seller back in the day. Goodwood Green was to the top selling color in 1967, and the trend continued in 1968 with British Green being the top color. In 1971, Brands Hatch Green was the second best seller, and in 1972 Elkhart Lake Green also came in second. The last time Green appeared on a Corvette was in 2014 where it was dead last and that was with the benefit of having 550 units painted Lime Rock Green for the 2014 Stingray launch.

Green on a vehicle is such a subjective color as some want it darker like Bowling Green Metallic (or the Fathom Green of the late 1960s) while others want to go with a brighter green that is often spied on other exotic sports cars. Chevy previously offered Synergy Green and Krypton Green on the Camaro, but these brighter greens never made it over to the Corvette.

Will Roswell Green do any better on the C8 Corvette? Time will tell!

  1. That’s an E Ray. The Z06 is in the driving rain pics. Exhaust + wheels = dead giveaway E Ray.

  2. I live ,a few miles not far from the proving grounds. M-59, Hickory Ridge Rd.and General Motors Rd. I travel the area daily and have seen this colored Corvette on 2 occasions. I can’t say that it was a Z-06 or E-Ray, as when seen, I was always driving in the opposite direction in moving traffic. I have also taken note to a number of “High Wing” Corvettes of varied colors that I presume are ZR-1’s in the past 2 weeks either on General Motors Rd. or on Hickory Ridge Rd. and always in moving traffic. The green color reminded me of the 71 “Heavy Chevy” I had back in the day. I do enjoy seeing them on the road and some times at the eateries in Milford or the Kroger.

  3. Saw a Stingray in the new Roswell Green color in the Corvette Corral at Watkins Glen this past weekend. I think one of the Corvette reps drove it in. It’s a nice color – really stands out. It’s the type of color a sports car like the Corvette should have.
