If you want to stand out in a crowd with your C5 Corvette, this super-rare 1998 Medium Purple Pearl Metallic convertible has your name written all over it.
One of only 152 ragtops ever built in this one-year-only color, this two-owner car is up for sale on Craigslist for $14,750 out of the Raleigh, North Carolina area.
While the car has a “very babied” 112,000 miles on the odometer, it’s said to be in “mint condition in and out,” according to the owner. The body and paint have little to no wear, he says, and this C5 has reportedly never seen bad weather.
“This car has been very well maintained and garaged since new,” the seller says, noting that it has a clean Carfax with no accidents and “no issues.”
A full service with fluids, tune-up, all belts, brakes, and pulleys was just completed, and this “fun, quick, sporty” car now “runs like new.”
Features include the stock 5.7-liter LS1 V8 engine that makes 345 horsepower, automatic transmission, all power options, cold AC, black leather interior with dual power-adjustable sport seats, power antenna, factory fog lights, automatic climate control, Bose stereo with factory CD changer in the trunk, two original keys, and a black rag top that is 3 years old and remains in “excellent” condition.
The only mod is an “expensive” full polished stainless steel Corsa exhaust system, which “sounds amazing and quiet in the car,” according to the listing.
This purple Corvette is “most likely” the only one in North Carolina. “If you want something different (and) you’re tired of seeing the basic colors,” the seller says, “you’ll be the only one at a show with this color. It’s a pretty special car and extremely rare. There ain’t many left” out of the 381 total that were made.

Would have been a better color to add to the 2025 lineup than Hysteria. And I don’t even like it.
