Corvettes for Sale: 723-Mile 2012 C6 Corvette ZR1 Centennial Edition

The incoming 2025/2026 Corvette ZR1 is the 1,064-horsepower tide that lifts all boats. Hype for history’s most powerful Corvette is so off-the-charts that it has lit a fire under all previous ‘Vettes lucky enough to wear the hallowed ZR1 badge. Supercharged monsters from 2019 are coming out of the woodwork left and right, and now the C6s are officially getting in on the action!

Over the weekend a doozy of a C6 ZR1 hit the block on our favorite auction site, Bring a Trailer. In fact, it isn’t just a doozy; it is arguably THE quintessential collectible C6: a 2012 ZR1 Centennial Edition with the “PDE” High Performance Package. RPO ZLC, the Centennial Special Edition package, was introduced to honor Chevrolet’s 100th anniversary. It did so with a look so sinister that it was copied almost to a tee for the Corvette’s 70th birthday 11 years later. The base of the Centennial cars was Carbon Flash Metallic, which became the only way for buyers to get a Black paint in ’12. Laid over the top of the bass boat sparkles of CFM were a pair of flat black racing stripes that terminated in points on the supercharger’s carbon fiber hood bulge, special “100” stickers featuring a racing Louis Chevrolet on the B-pillars, and unique blacked-out Crossed-Flags badges. Red brake calipers matched the interior’s contrast stitching. The ebony leather and Alcantara interior treatment also featured special logos on the headrests, steering wheel, and door sills.

ZLC usually means a set of satin black Cup-Style wheels with a red stripe and Centennial center caps, but if you check the official production stats, you’ll notice that those exclusive wheels only made it onto 201 of the 206 CE ZR1s built over the course of the year. The example on BaT is one of the five that were spec’d with non-black rims; the original owner instead opting for a factory set of “Q5V” Silver Cup Wheels. The 12-pound-saving Cup Wheels of any hue were a hallmark of the $1,495 PDE Performance Package that also makes an appearance on the ZR1 wearing VIN 355. Along with the lightweight wheels, PDE included ultra-sticky Pilot Sport Cup Michelins and a slightly more aggressive rear spoiler. Just 184 ZR1s got PDE in 2012, followed by another 191 in ’13 to close out the C6’s run with the 375 fastest C6s ever pieced together – the PDE improvements collaborated to cut 6-seconds from the 2009 ZR1’s Nürburgring time to set a highwater mark that still hasn’t been officially eclipsed by any Corvette.

To top it all off, this “wrong-wheeled” example of the fastest and most collectible C6 has amassed just 723 miles since leaving Bowling Green some 13 years ago. If it sounds to you like this car will go for a big number, with six days to go on the fresh auction, you are already correct! The bid has climbed to $114,000 in one day, and we can easily see this one being the rare C6 that is capable of exceeding its original MSRP in the 2020s! For that to happen, it’ll have to command in excess of $131,190. That’s some serious money, but, then again, it’s also some serious hardware!
