A 1966 Corvette convertible with performance updates is on the market for $67,000 on Craigslist out of the Newark, New Jersey area.
This open-air Sting Ray features a slick one-year-only Laguna Blue paint job, one of just 2,054 built, and it contrasts nicely with the dark blue interior.
Furthermore, the car features a Smeding built 383 engine still under warranty, said to be capable of producing 480 horsepower and 460 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated with a four-speed manual transmission, with a new clutch recently installed.
Several other new parts have also been installed, including a Holley 670 carburetor, tach drive distributor with Petronix, Optima Red Top battery, brake job on the four-wheel power disc brakes, and black vinyl soft top (with a color-matched fiberglass hardtop).
Other features include 17×7 aluminum Rally wheels.
The owner says he’ll possibly trade his Corvette for a clean ’69 Camaro. The listing also mentions that he’s got a numbers-matching L79 327 on an engine stand, but it’s unclear if it is included with the car.
Regardless, at least in photos and on paper, this Sting Ray appears to be more than capable of turning heads while also performing nicely on the track or the road.
