Here’s a piece of Corvette Racing history that you don’t see every day.
One of the more unusual items on Bring a Trailer right now has to be this timing stand used by Pratt & Miller to support Corvette C7.R race cars during the 2014 to 2019 seasons.
It’s being offered at no reserve on BaT, with the current bid reaching $7,100 as the auction is slated to come to an end Thursday.
Manufactured by CTech Manufacturing, the stand includes pneumatic tires, Wilwood disc brakes, and a T-handle, with ladders extending from either side to make it easier to reach the upper platform where you’ll find five individual seats.
Also part of the deal are 18 screens, including various monitors, televisions, and other electronic equipment.
The seller acquired the stand last August and has decided to part with it on BaT out of Connelly Springs, North Carolina.
When it’s folded for transport or storage, the unit is roughly 78 inches tall by 45 inches wide by 127” long, not including the nine-inch T-handle. When configured for use, the stand – with its expandable platforms, railings, and ladders – grows to become approximately 17 feet long by seven feet wide.
If you’re into this kind of stuff, which admittedly most people would have no use for such a stand, this might be a less expensive way to come up with a cool timing stand with a neat back history connected to Corvette Racing.
The timing stand even has the Tommy Milner seal of approval as we found out about this special auction via this tweet:
'Hey babe – I found a really cool piece of patio furniture. Yeah, it matches the house perfectly.' https://t.co/I7Nk1AXjFG
