2025 Corvette ZR1 Blogger Builds: Alex Unchains Michael Myers

With the 2025 ZR1 Configurator now online, each of us CorvetteBloggers will be sharing our dream builds. First up is Alex Sommers who channeled a 1980’s slasher film for his “Michael Myers” build. Enjoy!

Halloween, 1989. The newborn child of an American father and an English mother rampages through the European countryside on a grizzly six-year killing spree. His parents called him King of the Hill, or simply, ZR-1 – after a distant ancestor – but the restless residents of the once peaceful towns of Geneva, Stuttgart, and Maranello came to know him by another name: Michael Myers.

Stateside, “Killer Mike” would inspire numerous imitators, including within his own sinister family. These imposters only served to motivate the genuine article to get stronger, escape containment, and remind everyone what only a true ZR1 is capable of, and, in 2008, escape he did. None were safe from his second global reign of terror, but after five years at large, with his bloodlust momentarily slaked, he disappeared into the night.

Eyewitnesses placed an even more potent winged entity fitting his description at the scene of a 2018 annihilation in Virgina, but to the relief of 911s and Ford GTs everywhere, the gruesome incident was an isolated one.

After more than half a decade spent in rage-fueled mutation, collecting unthinkable amounts of power in seclusion under the mean streets of Detroit, Myers is back to feast on the bluebloods – with the otherworldly McLaren Senna already falling victim to his might. Mark your calendars, Corvette Nation, it might be Valentine’s, but Halloween is here to stay!

The Sommers-Spec 2025 ZR1 is all Orange and Black, breaking from a generation-long Rapid Blue trend that still gets my Z06 vote. The ZR1 is also the first C8 where I feel compelled to forgo the Hardtop Convertible in favor of the Split-window coupe and its extra air intakes. Sebring Orange is complimented by the new Habanero 3LZ interior treatment with Microfiber inserts in its Competition Seats. Opting for the fuzzy seats automatically upgraded me to orange seat belts and the Sueded/Carbon Fiber steering wheel that I would have insisted on anyway.

ZTK and Carbon Aero are also a must, and even though I think the ZR1 has the best assortment of base-style wheels offered by any C8, I can’t say no to the 10-spoke Carbon Fiber set, even at an astounding $13,995! Matching orange brake calipers and a smattering of other, mostly-frivolous interior and exterior carbon fiber bits – that I might not actually want to pay for with real money – including mirror covers and the engine cross brace, round out my build.

All told, I’m looking at a sum of just over $229,000, which, considering my career choices, is a pretty disheartening number but also a screaming deal for a car that can take down the previously untouchable Senna and its +1,000,000-dollar market value!
