The tricky thing about “buyer’s markets” is that the sellers need to be willing to play ball even when the chips are down, which hasn’t been the case in the “recent American performance” niche of the car collector world. There have been some notable outliers, but by and large, the domestic stuff that went crazy in 2021 – most notably the Gen V Viper ACR that has settled in around a quarter million after briefly becoming a $400,000 proposition and Cadillac V Wagons that have gone from easy $100K sales back toward their original MSRP (even with Celebrity ties!) – values have stabilized, and would-be unloaders are opting to keep their cars.
Outside of the major auctions, it’s become difficult for a seemingly leftover Corvette to catch our eye in the current holding pattern of a market, but the right mix of options and the Florida sunshine has officially brought us out of the “For Sale” doldrums this week!
Stuart, Florida’s JLD Auto Group, is offering the blue beauty in question right now. To be precise, it’s one of just 646 Z06 coupes sprayed Laguna Blue Tintcoat in the model and the color’s inaugural year on sale – and one of just 2,200 Z06s ever painted LBT. On top of one of the outstanding colorway, JLD’s Z06 (wearing VIN 765) also features what we once called the “Holy Trinity” of C7Z options in the top-shelf 3LZ interior equipment group (one of 5,932 in ‘15) and the much harder to find Z07 Ultimate Performance Package (one of 3,378), and the Seven-Speed manual transmission (one of 4,467).
Other option boxes present include the Dark Gray leather interior that only found its way into 41 Zs in 2015 and the “C2M” Visible Carbon Fiber dual removable roof option that only 644 of the 6,980 ’15 Z customers opted into. Outside, Black Z06 wheels and Gray brake calipers make it both ubiquitous – the wheels were the most popular set, taking up 54% of ’15 production – and a difficult find with just 359 Z’s being spec’d with the low visual-impact stoppers.
Surprisingly, this perfectly-ordered specimen has barely been enjoyed, racking up just 2,481 miles during its decade of existence. Even though it is barely broken in, this resplendent 650 horsepower throwback to a simpler time can be had for just $84,900, which represents a nearly $22,000 discount from the number printed on the included window sticker!
The best part of the whole thing is that Bring a Trailer can act as a price barometer with the eerily similar Z auction wrapping up on Thursday afternoon. The odometer on this one (VIN 7179) somehow shows even fewer miles at just 936. It lacks the carbon roof and features more mainstream red calipers and black leather insides, but other than those minor differences, it’s a dead ringer for the Florida car. Really, the only thing keeping it from being the feature car of this post is the presentation; a snowy field in Missouri just doesn’t sell the Corvette lifestyle like JLD’s bright and sunny photos. Either way, two of the best 2015 Z06’s we’ve seen in a while are set to change hands!

That’s a super nice pair of C7 Z06’s! Laguna Blue Tintcoat was first available on the 2014 Stingray.
