[VIDEO] C8 Corvette Goes Flying on the Side of the Highway, Calmly Merges Back into Traffic


You never know what you’re going to see on the road these days.

Last week, I was waiting at an intersection at a red light when a big SUV turned in front of me from a side road and bounced all over the raised concrete median separating my turn lane from his lane as he merrily headed away from me.

That little stunt was nothing compared to what happens in this crazy video posted on Reddit by e/laughinfrog on the r/IdiotsInCars forum and shared by Road & Track magazine on their website.

The near-accident happened on Dec. 19 at 9:15 p.m. in Kissimmee, Florida, apparently on Interstate 4, just south of Disney World.

Watch as a blue C8 comes whizzing into the video from the fast lane, then cuts across all three lanes and into the grass, barely missing a light post in the process.

Right about now, we tend to agree with many of your assessments that this driver is a nutcase who doesn’t deserve to have a license. However, his ability to avoid wrecking the Corvette does deserve some kudos as he was able to straighten it out before then hitting a berm at high speed and bouncing airborne. He still keeps it under control, slows down significantly, and then even has the mental acuity to turn his blinker on and merge back onto the road, like nothing ever happened. Reminds me of the scene in Naked Gun when Leslie Nielsen is surrounded by fire and other mayhem and then tells the crowd of onlookers to disperse because there’s “nothing to see here.”

Unfortunately, this whole incident was captured by a dashcam, which then follows the C8 making its way happy-go-lucky up the interstate when we think he should have been immediately pulling over to see if the undercarriage, wheels, or suspension of the car suffered any damage from the wild ride.

  1. What looks even more dangerous is towards the end of the video when what appears to be a minivan of some type pulls in front of the guy videotaping. The guy is repeatedly break checking, weaving and crossing the lane dividers and is obviously drunk or never driven before. The guy in the Vette was more in control of his vehicle than the minivan guy.

  2. I can’t believe this idiot didn’t immediately stop and inspect his car for all the damage that surely happened to it. I wouldn’t have driven it another inch and called for a rollback wrecker to come get it.

  3. Four wheels off earns a black flag at the track – for a reason, inspect the vehicle for damage. 🤯
