The gas tank for 2024 is on fumes and the beginning of a new year is right around the corner. Did you accomplish everything that you set out to do this year?
Back in January we inquired about your 2024 Corvette New Year’s resolutions. The overwhelming response then was to “just drive the darn thing more”. That too was my goal after a busy 2023 with my 1978 Corvette. I ended up selling that car early in the summer which created much more time for my 1994 ZR1. While I did get behind the wheel more than last year, it still wasn’t enough for me. So, the driving goal clicks over to 2025 for this blogger.
Is 2025 the year you finally pick up a C8 Corvette? 2024 will likely go down as the year in which 8th generation supply finally caught up with demand. Preowned prices are down, and most models can be purchased new at or below sticker if you do your due diligence. Thousands of them are sitting on dealer lots right now. I’m certainly keeping an eye out for one (but don’t tell Mrs. Detroit Bureau that).
Is it time to start that lingering project you’ve been putting off? Rocking tunes are mandatory while cruising yet my C4 has 2 buzzy speakers and a dead CD player. If things play out right, I’ll finally address those issues in the first few months of 2025. While I’m there, I might as well correct the loose door panels as well. From there I may enter it into a NCRS or Bloomington Gold event but haven’t made up my mind on that yet.
Looking for a new car show or Corvette event? I didn’t make it to Amelia Island last year, but I did get Mecum Indy checked off the list. This year I’ve already got plans to hit Mecum Kissimmee for the first time next month and hopefully the Indy 500 in May as well.
So, what’s on your 2025 Corvette or car list? The start of a new year is always a great spot to reset and figure out what the next set of goals are. Whether it’s as simple as driving more or far more involved like buttoning up a multi-year restoration project, there’s a new opportunity to get things moving forward.

If it counts, I finally got my ’23 past the 5,000 mile mark a few weeks back!
Many of the resolutions you have listed I have completed. Although I will offer some assistance to those who need some help.
Drive the thing more often is an easy challenge if you develop some me time in your weekly routine. It doesn’t have to be much as even a .5 trip locally can make you feel better.
Purchase your 1st Corvette / a new C8 are likely as Corvette prices across the board have become very accommodating to about everyone’s budget.
Drive in a Corvette driving tour – See you Oct 15 -17 @ Tux’s Backroad Boogie VII (find us on Facebook)
Join a Corvette Club – Simply Corvettes will welcome you hands down! (Find us on Facebook)
As for my resolution… To the best I can be in the Corvette Community and maybe add Corvette #4 to the stable (((GRINNING)))
Tux… (((WAVING)))
Get one.
What I really want is to get my C6 GS paid off.
I finally hit 8,ooo after I purchased my 2023 C8 70th Anniversary edition back in September of 2022. I’ll be taking it out tomorrow night for dinner at the Madonna Inn in San Luis Obispo, CA.
