Corvettes for Sale: Canadian 1977 Corvette with a 4-Speed for $15,500

Corvette was riding a wave of popularity when this 1977 Stingray first hit the road.

In fact, sales numbers soared to a then-record of 49,213, despite the Corvette’s lackluster performance numbers, especially compared to earlier and later model years.

No such problem with this white ’77 – showing 92,000 miles on the odometer – that is being offered for what seems like a reasonable enough asking price of $15,500 on Craigslist out of the Clayton Heights, Washington area, southeast of Vancouver, Canada.

The original 350 engine – if it was the lower-rated base L48 – would have produced just 180 horsepower. Fortunately it’s been replaced at some point over the past 47 years with a built 400 cubic inch engine with a mild cam. Now it provides “good” performance, according to the seller.

Further good news for shift-it-yourself enthusiasts is that this new powerplant is connected to a four-speed manual transmission, one of the few ’77s so equipped.

Only five photos accompany the listing, but the paint and body – complete with a chrome luggage rack – appear to be in good condition. The black or gray cloth interior – we can’t tell which for sure – looks nice, too.

The listing also says “lots of work” has been done, but we’re not sure exactly what that means. Paint? Interior? Mechanical? All three? Perhaps an interested party can find out for sure and wind up with a classic C3 that seemingly grows more beautiful with each passing year.
