One of the unique features that sets the Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals apart from lesser car shows is their Premier Unveilings. As you can gather from the name, the Premiere Unveilings are reserved for cars making their debut after a restoration. The cars are kept under covers Saturday morning until it’s time for their big reveal.
Each ceremony is typically hosted by 1 or more of the celebrities in attendance at MCACN that year. Past emcees have included Courtney Hansen, Mecum’s Scott Hoke and John Kraman, V8 TV’s Kevin Oeste and others.
2024 was a record year at MCACN with 22 cars making their post restoration debut. Included in the eclectic mix this year was a 1959 fuelie as well as an uber rare 1971 ZR2 coupe which was uncovered just after noon on Saturday. While have more on that fuelie soon.
The Classic White over black big block Corvette was presented by Don Andress and restored by Rick Tucker’s Tucker Performance Center in Nevada. It was initially sent to England for racing purposes. When it showed up at the track, it failed tech and never hit the track. It’s 1 of 12 built and 1 of just 7 known to exist today.
RPO ZR2 was the big block equivalent of the small block ZR1 package. By checking that RPO ZR2 box, the owner received the mighty 425hp LS6 454, M22 rock crusher transmission, J56 heavy duty brakes, transistor ignition, and F41 heavy-duty suspension. Like the LT1 powered ZR1, the ZR2 was built without a radio, air conditioning, or a fan shroud. The ZR2 option package added a stout $1,741 to the price tag.
In the video below, we get to see one of the rarest Corvettes on the planet revealed after being brought back to life. Kevin Oeste from V8 TV hosts the reveal while speaking with Restorer Rick Tucker who talks about this car’s history, the ZR2 option package, and more. All you have to do is sit back, relax, and enjoy this look at one of the rarest Corvettes on the planet.

Impressive C3! Would be interested to know more about this car’s history after it failed tech in England and was unable to race there, and what state it was in before the frame off resto.
Super nice Corvette and a job well done.
