It was back in June that the first Corvette E-Ray models were displayed in Japan for the model’s official launch, and it’s our understanding that the first batch of retail cars are now being delivered to customers in the island nation.
As they have done before with the Stingray and the Z06, the marketing gurus at Chevrolet Japan took the new RHD E-Ray out for the drive.
Chevrolet Japan is currently showcasing the new 2025 Corvette E-Rays and are allowing test drives at their various Chevrolet dealers in the country. The first three weekend dates have been completed, but there are still four more running from 11/23 through 12/15. You can see those dates at ChevroletJapan.com’s Corvette E-Ray page.
Google translator offered up this description from the YouTube video. Just like American owners, the Japanese E-Ray fans are really enjoying the E-Ray’s Stealth Mode, which offers battery-only propulsion up to 45 mph with a 4-mile range:
The “Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray” has derived a new answer for the future of American sports cars. The V8 engine, which boasts 502 PS, and the motor that emits 162 PS drives the front side, realizing all-wheel drive = eAWD suitable for the new era. The reason for developing this system is not only for performance specific to sports driving. If you use the specially provided “stealth mode”, you can move around at home or in a residential area without disturbing the surrounding residents even in the early morning or late at night. This is the most important feature of E-Ray in everyday life.

The “Eww-Ray.” No thanks Base I.C.E. or z06 or zr1. No hybrid none of that pc stuff. I don’t care about McLaren or whoever.
The E-Ray looks really good in that 3/4 rear view shot. That bad boy looks tough with it’s wide body and steam roller sized tires.
E-Ray haters gonna hate. Still the best of the C8 stable as of 2024. But I would not want a car that wide in Japan. Kei cars are still where it’s at. GM couldn’t build something the size of an S660 if their entire board of director’s lives depended on it.
