[VIDEO] RHD 2024 Corvette E-Ray Lands in Japan

While the Corvette has been an American Icon for the last 70+ years, General Motors has been working to make sure that its latest version – the C8 Corvette – is also a car of the world. All C8 models were designed to be built in a right-hand drive configuration and sales of the models in these non-traditional markets like Japan, Australia, and the U.K. have been strong.

Now that the new 2024 Corvette E-Ray is on the assembly line, we knew it would only be a matter of time before we would see the car show up in its RHD configuration. Sure enough, check out this Riptide Blue example that was shown during the Chevrolet Fan Day in Japan last weekend.

C8 Corvette sales in Japan have been a success and it is currently the third largest export country behind Canada and Europe. In 2023, Chevy exported 567 Stingrays and 8 Z06s to the country, and now they are going to be offering the E-Ray for sale. Chevy has previously introduced the Stingray and Z06 to Japan as a special edition model first and then in year two as production gains traction, it allows customer orders from a reduced list of colors and options.

The video comes from the American Car World channel, and it looks like he gets a pretty good introduction to the car from a Chevrolet rep who is standing there. The car itself is gorgeous in Riptide Blue with Sky Cook Gray seats, but unfortunately, we never quite get a look inside the car.

2024年6月1日に開催された「CHEVROLET FAN DAY 2024」にて、コルベット初の電動化＆全輪駆動を採用した『シボレーコルベット E-Ray』のプレス発表会が開催されました。 プレス（＝様々なメディア）だけでなく、各世代のコルベットオーナーなど、ほとんどのイベント参加者が、この最新のハイテクコルベットに興味津々。人の囲みが途切れる事はほとんどなかったのですが、筆者＆カメラマンは、観客が少なくなる昼休みに、人の波が途切れる瞬間を狙って何とか撮影に成功しました！（笑）
