Corvette Delivery Dispatch with National Corvette Seller Mike Furman for Sept 22nd

Criswell Chevrolet’s Mike Furman delivers new Corvettes to his customers who come from all across the country to work with the nation’s top individual Corvette seller.

Congratulations to our friends at Criswell Chevrolet for once again being named a 2023 Chevrolet Dealer of the Year. Only a select few get this honor, and Criswell is one of just three dealerships in the USA to win this coveted award every year since it was first offered. ~I always say… “The Truest measure of Performance is Consistency”…This past week was the “2023 Dealer of the Year Award” Luncheon for Criswell Chevrolet of Gaithersburg, MD. 60 Dealers per year win this award and Criswell Chevrolet is 1 of only 3 Dealerships Nationwide that has won this award every year since 2000 when the DOY award began.

~ I receive many emails after delivery, as you can imagine …owning a new Corvette is a fantastic experience all by itself. Today’s incredibly nice message from Duane and Lisa of Highlands Ranch, Colorado.

“I wanted to send you a more detailed message of appreciation now that I’m two weeks and 1,832 miles into my 2024 Z06 ownership experience.

I can’t thank you enough for the opportunity you presented to Lisa and me on June 11th to order our Z06. Your expertise, professionalism and friendly approach to working with your customers is truly exceptional and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced with other dealerships or sales people. The guidance you provided us in working through the order and option selection process resulted in getting a vehicle that was exactly what we wanted, and your recommendations about things like getting the bright red rather than edge red brake calipers to better match our 2019 Z06 were spot on. The two cars look amazing parked next to each other and my friends and neighbors think it’s pretty cool that two Corvettes built 5 years apart were able to be configured so similarly.

The new Z06 is an incredible car and I enjoy driving the 2019 and 2024 back to back sometimes to experience how differently the two vehicles approach the same objective of extreme high performance and driver engagement and thrills.

Our museum delivery experience was everything we hoped for and our grandson Lincoln had a wonderful experience. He likes to talk about getting the new Corvette at the National Corvette Museum. I’m guessing not too many 3 year olds can recite that mouthful. My daughter, son-in-law, and grandson will have memories of delivery day that outlast Lisa and me and that’s exactly what we were hoping for. They were also touched that we named the car “So Fast” in honor of Lincoln.

Once again, thank you for making all of this possible. I doubt we would ever have gotten to this point with the other dealerships where I had my name on a waiting list. This entire experience meant much more to my family than just collecting another very cool Corvette.

You’re the best Mike and you have certainly earned your status as #1 Corvette salesman in history. I hope I’ll be able to help you increase your sales total again in the future.”

~ Here’s a track for you. The GM Proving Ground in Milford, MI. It has 147 miles of test track, including a road course that mimics parts of Nurburgring, a 2 mile replica brick road, and a nearly 80 acre asphalt pad. Only about 100 employees are licensed to drive at top speeds on the tracks and modern highway guardrails were invented here.

~ “In early 1961, Chevrolet was testing the fastback design for the upcoming Sting Ray Corvette. This snapshot shows a styrofoam mockup of a fastback shape that had been attached to a production ’61 Corvette. Since this testing took place many years before GM built its own wind tunnel, the Corvette team must have bought time in one of the existing tunnels or tested the shape outside at GM’s Milford Proving Grounds.”

~C8 Deliveries and More This Week

~Jeff and Melanie D. of Lantana, Florida and Annapolis, Maryland are members of the Annapolis Corvette Club, which is one of the clubs that I’m a member. They took delivery of their new Sea Wolfe Gray 2024 Corvette Eray Convertible with Natural interior at the Corvette Museum today. The Museum staff rolled out the red carpet and fun was had by all. Equipment: 3LZ, CF full length dual racing stripes, front lift, engine appearance pkg and much more. Eray #1146.

~Mike and Mary S. of Clarksville, Tennessee factory ordered from me their brand new Riptide Blue 2024 Corvette ERAY Coupe and today took delivery at the National Corvette Museum in their neighboring state. The Museum staff rolled out the Red Carpet and I’m sure they will enjoy the ride home! Equipment: 2LZ, black exhaust tips, Jake C8R graphics, gloss black forged wheels and much more. Vin 1179

The photos are now supplied to me by Fotofx, a company that has been working within the Museum for the past 10+ years and now they have pkgs available for a truly special experience to be captured digitally.

~Troy L. of Damascus, Maryland last bought a new truck in 2003 and it was from me when I managed Damascus Chevrolet. He still has that 2003 Tahoe and today he has a new 2024 Silverado. Troy was a Freshman on the U of Maryland wrestling team when I was a graduating Senior so we go way back. Check out his new Dark Ash Metallic Silverado 1500 RST Crew cab with 4WD.

My favourite pic is the one of the prototype fastback on a ’61 Corvette — I don’t recall ever seeing a pic of that before!

The green 69 and grey 71 look sharp! I’m glad the C3 didn’t look like the early prototype in that one pic. The production C3 looked much better.
