As another month has come to a close, we’ve got the Top 10 Dealer Sales Report for August 2024 as well as the Calendar Year to Date numbers to share with you. The month features no changes in the dealers or the rankings over the July 2024s report.
MacMulkin Corvette continues to amaze us with the sheer number of new Corvettes they have delivered monthly, but August 2024’s numbers were huge with 254 Corvettes sold. That was an improvement over July’s numbers where they sold 127 Corvettes in the month, and they now lead all dealers with 1,311 Corvettes delivered for the year. Ciocca Corvette of Atlantic City is next with 91 new Corvettes delivered and 780 for the year, and in third was Criswell Chevy/Mike Furman with 38 deliveries and 377 for the year.
Our friends at Les Stanford Corvette King have some the most aggressive C8 pricing we’ve seen with the Michigan dealer selling new 2024 Corvette Stingrays at 10% off MSRP during the month of August. That strategy appears to have paid off after their deliveries jumped from 25 in July to 46 in August.
Last month we saw Florida’s Don Mealy Chevrolet make the Top 10 list for the first time. This month they had 20 deliveries and they are now tied at 132 with Bomnin’s West Kendall store in Miami. You can see the entire list below and remember, these sales numbers only represent around 15% of the Corvettes sold during the month. So, just doing a little simple math, let’s say that MacMulkin, who is the top selling Corvette Chevy dealer in the nation, makes 10% gross per Corvette sold, and let’s say the average price is $75,000.00.
Just making up numbers, as I have no idea what the gross per sale is, nor the avg. selling price.
$7500 X 1311 = $9,832,500.00
I should have sold Corvettes rather than tires. LOL!
I do not think there is $7500 in a $75000 corvette
GM seems to have some kind of problem with the Corvette. Stingrays are not selling even when marked down. And the E-Ray seems to be nothing but vapor and unavailable. Dealer markups are still hurting Z06s and the ZR-1 is going to have that problem though worse.
Mary Barra is milking the Corvette franchise by taking its profit though not re-investing it that vehicle. She is the same person who said electric would be the only way to go and look where that has gone. Mary Barra is a threat to the existence of the Vette!
