On Saturday night, the National Corvette Museum officially inducted into the Corvette Hall of Fame. The Class of 2024 included Oliver Gavin and Jan Magnussen in the Racing category Author, historian and photographer Richard Prince in the Enthusiast category, and Retired Executive Corvette Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter in the GM Category.
Each of the inductees were featured in a video highlighting their lives and accomplishments, and then a current HoF member invited them up on stage to receive their award and make remarks. Oliver Gavin was introduced by former Corvette Racing Program Manager Doug Fehan. Unfortunately, Jan couldn’t make it to the ceremony as he is managing a racing team in the WEC, and they were in Texas at COTA for a race on Sunday. Mid America Motorworks’ founder Mike Yager introduced Richard Prince, who then gave a thank you speech that rivaled many of the endurance races he covers, and then former Chief Engineer Tom Wallace introduced Tadge Juechter to the stage.
Behind each of the inductees on the stage was a Corvette representing each of the categories. Oliver’s number 4 C7.R Corvette was there, as was a 1965 or ’66 Corvette Coupe which is the kind of car that Richard used to work on in his shop, and finally, a brand new 2025 Corvette ZR1 was fresh off the assembly line and driven to the ceremony. This Rapid Blue ZR1 was the first that we saw with the dark blue brake calipers which are exclusive to the model.
After the ceremony was over, we stuck around and got a ton of great photos with the inductees getting their photos taken with many of the special guests who attended the ceremony at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center. Some of the big names to attend included GM President Mark Reuss, GM VP of Motorsports Jim Campbell, as well as a ton of Corvette Racing people both past and present who posed with Oliver and Richard.
Leading up to the event, we saw that the National Corvette Museum had already placed the inductees banners up in the NCM SkyDome, and we have each of the HoF inductee displays from inside the spire. The folks at the National Corvette Museum did another fantastic job in putting on a first class event and we congratulate each of the inductees on being selected to the Corvette Hall of Fame.
Video from the event is supposed to be made public later this week, In the meantime, check out our photo gallery from the event below!
