The 3rd Annual Cultural Awareness Corvette Weekend in Bowling Green begins today and runs through Saturday, and we got these photos of a 2025 Corvette E-Ray show car in the new Hysteria Purple Metallic on display on the patio of the National Corvette Museum.
This E-Ray features a 3LZ Sky Cool Gray interior with the bright polished 5-spoke wheels, Gray brake calipers, black nacelles and roof, and the standard black badging.
My E-Ray build will be very close to this, so whoever ordered this car nearly got it right. But I think it does need to have the chrome badges to match the wheels while also allowing them to show up better against the darker Hysteria paint. Just sayin’!
These two photos really demonstrate how differently the Hysteria Purple Metallic looks in different light. In the sun, it takes on a shade on Indigo Blue while in the shade, it takes on a very Purple/Grape color.

Our friend and occasional contributor Jeremy Welborn arrived at the NCM this afternoon and shared these additional photos of the Hysteria E-Ray. Jeremy just picked up his 2024 E-Ray and we featured it on Mike Furman’s Sunday Post.

But wait, there’s more!
Thanks to our Detroit Bureau Chief Steve Burns, I also have this photo below of the 2025 Corvette Z06 in Hysteria that Corvette Product Manager Harlan Charles is currently driving. He was spotted yesterday at the Corvettes at Woodward event at Detroit’s M1 Concourse. This is the 2nd time we have shared this car, and I bet all the comments about it will focus on the new wheels as we have found no fans yet of this particular finish with the carbon flash pockets. I also added a second photo from our friend Rick Conti.

I like this color in the sun and shade. I know those new Z06 wheels have caught some flak. I’m one of the maybe very few in Corvette Nation that loves them. They would be my only choice if I was going to buy a new Z06. If Factory Reproductions or OE Wheels makes 19/20” replicas of them in this finish for the C7 Stingray I’m buying a set to put on mine.
Love it that color is amazing… that eray with that supercharge upgrade pushing 2.0 second times is impressive love to see what the zora will do
I question the appropriateness of segregating corvette ownership by immutable characteristics. Corvette ownership should be all-encompassing.
As to Hysteria, it’s still blue. How it looks in the shade is closer to how it should have appeared in sunlight. It’s still too dark. It’s still too blue. I was originally excited about having a C8 in purple. But if this is the “purple”, GM won’t make another for C8 generation. And this isn’t purple. I eagerly await the first side-by-side with a Plum Crazy Dodge, just to drive home that point.
The only color option I think I somewhat like of for 2025 MY is not even available yet.
Okay — for the ultimate test, will someone PLEASE buy and unwrap a grape popsicle and take 2 pictures holding the grape popsicle next to an Hysteria Purple C8 — 1 in the sun and 1 in the shade!
Even better than Plum Crazy is Hellraisin which is the best shade of purple in my opinion and the best name without question. Canceled my C8 order to get a Hellcat.
I really like the wheels on Harlan’s car..I just found out they were not ‘solid’ spokes but pockets done in carbon flash..
