Last weekend was the 14th Annual Troy Traffic Jam car show in Troy, Michigan and GM was there with a new 2025 Corvette Z06 painted in new Competition Yellow. Also being shown off on this C8Z are the latest alloy wheel design. The video comes from the Shelby_Moe5.2 YouTube Channel who does a walk around the car.
The YouTuber tells us that it was the 2025 Corvette ZR1 that was supposed to be on display for the show, but GM brought out the new Z06 in its place. The car is wearing Manufacturer plates so that seems legit. In the background, you can actually hear the voice of Corvette Chief Engineer Josh Holder discussing the new 2025 ZR1 and its 1,064 horsepower.
But Shelby_Moe5.2 is really captivated by the new Competition Yellow and as we’ve heard many Corvette enthusiasts exclaim, finally a real yellow for the C8 Corvette. The Corvette Z06 was captured in the bright sun and really shows off its new exterior very well. The car is also outfitted with what look to be Carbon Flash dual racing stripes and the Black emblems look great against the Yellow as well.
This Z06 is also wearing the new aluminum wheels that are now available for the 2025 model year. There are four different finishes available and this one is the Gloss Black version. Also new for 2025 is the matching Competition Yellow Brake Calipers which gives buyers the ability to color match the new body color to the brakes.
From Shelby_Moe5.2 via YouTube:
Walk around of this beautiful 2025 Corvette Z06, the car was supposed to be the 2025 Corvette ZR1 but due to some issues on Chevrolet’s part it couldn’t make it out this time! It should be out and about around dream cruise time.

Like the color and the wheels, but these wheels in solid gloss black sure do look a lot like the C7 Z51 factory wheels. The two tone machined and gloss black version of this new wheel looks better.
Unless Chevrolet has changed their minds about the yellow calipers they said at the 2025 release that the ’25 Calipers are named Velocity Yellow while the exterior color is Competition Yellow
New black wheels? What’s the point? Unless they are in some kind of direct and bright light you can’t see any detail in them so they all look like spare tires or cop car wheels LOL! Alloy wheels look best unpainted and either polished or machined with a clear coat or chromed. Black wheels look like the old black painted steelies except in very good lighting conditions.
Can’t tell much difference between Competition Yellow and Accelerate Yellow Metallic that it replaced. Thankfully…! But I guess it doesn’t matter much because I’m a few years away from ordering a ZR1 anyway… I have to wonder how much demand there will be for a Z06 once ZR1 becomes available in significant numbers.
