The internet has changed the car-buying experience forever. Can you imagine shopping for a new Corvette without the cool “Build & Buy” site that lets us see exactly how our dream car will look optioned out to our exact specs.
Parent Chevrolet certainly hopes its overall website will make the shopping experience easier and more enjoyable for all of its customers.
Apparently the 10,471 new vehicle shoppers who were surveyed by J.D. Power for the Summer 2024 study are happy with what Chevy is doing on its site.
Indeed, Chevy made a big jump in the latest study, ranking first overall in the mass-market manufacturer segment.
After finishing 11th and 9th in the two previous rankings, Chevy took the top spot this time with a score of 758 out of a possible 1,000. GMC ranked second with a score of 744, while Buick was 11th with a 717.
The segment average was 722, well above the 700 score of Mini and 685 of cellar-dweller Mitsubishi.
“There were numerous macroeconomic factors, such as lack of chips and inventory, negatively influencing the auto industry during the pandemic,” J.D. Power Digital Solutions Analyst Chelsea Duckhart said. “Now, the auto industry is as close to normal as it has ever been and because of that, we are seeing an increase in inventory, incentives and rebates. Additionally, manufacturers are being more transparent by showing vehicles being built and delivered as well as an increase in price transparency, all things that significantly affect website satisfaction.”
