Since the start of the C7 generation, General Motors has thanked customers for buying a new Corvette with an exclusive “Thank You” gift that contained a letter and a frameable Corvette poster. GM offered a different gift for each new model as it was rolled out. If you ordered a Grand Sport, you got the Grand Sport poster. ZR1 owners received the ZR1 poster.
Now that the C8 Corvettes are out, GM is stepping its customer appreciation game up a notch by sending out these “Speed Shape Models” to 2020 Corvette Stingray buyers. The color of your model is color-matched to the exterior color of your Corvette, and every plaque shows the model year and VIN of the customer’s car.
CorvetteBlogger contributor Jeremy Welborn ordered VIN 050 for his Corvette to celebrate his 50th birthday and while the big gift showed up back in March, Jeremy received his Thank You gift from GM over the weekend and shared these photos with us:
Jeremy describes the model as being larger than the traditional 1:25 promotional models and he says its a lot heavier as well.

That’s really very nice, unexpected, and there will be complaints from some, of course.
🙂
I wonder IF you must have already taken Delivery of your ordered C-8 to receive this gift? I believe my “TPW” is in September, still feels so far far away, I’m hanging tough though. ?
Better be sending the Canadian customer ones also 🙂
Great keepsake item.
I would just like for GM to give people that have cars on order more info on delivery dates. I believe we deserve that much.
What about Canadian buyers of 2020 C8’s?? My order will be my third Corvette (2014, 2017, 2020) & I’ve never received anything from Chevrolet?! My TPW is July 13.
I never received a “Thank You” gift from GM when I bought my new C7 back in 2016.
That is very nice. I picked up my car at the Museum a week ago. Although the Museum is not funded by GM. Larry Crosbie is the staff member who delivered the car to us, and gave us a tour of the Museum. The 2020 C8 is a VERY special car and to receive a thank you gift like this makes it even more special. Buying this car was no mistake.
Nice, but underwhelming. Where is the large 1:12 scale full detail die cast like hot wheels made for C6 ?
Not complaining free is free but adding a brochure would have been nice also, most dealers cheap out and don’t buy any!
Are we sure everyone is getting one? Or just select few.
What about New Zealand customers. I have the first, and only 2020 C8 Corvette in the country.
Fantastic car to drive, and I’m very impressed with it
