Steve Stringfellow didn’t “invent” HUD technology, it was developed in the 50’s and the military was using it by the early 60’s. He just made it practical for the auto industry.
The ‘Heads Up Display” in General Motors vehicles has its origins in the late 1980s. It was an off shoot of General Motors acquiring of The Hughes Aircraft Company and all its technology, including jet aircraft heads up display.
My 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP had a HUD. I do like HUD technology!
