Bloomington Gold’s 2024 Gold Collection will Salute Fuel Injection

As the countdown to Bloomington Gold grows shorter each day, we’re getting a clearer picture of what this year’s show will look like. We already know that 1953 Corvette VIN 001 will be shown at the June 21st and 22nd event and we now know the focus of this year’s Gold Collection.

The Gold Certified team at Bloomington Gold recently announced that the 2024 Gold Collection’s theme will be Fuel Injection. Fuel injection was first offered on Corvettes in 1957 and was an available option through 1965. It wouldn’t be seen again until the 1980’s. During the course of its 9 model years, just over 11,000 Corvettes were built with a fuel injected engine under the hood.

The new fuel injection technology provided more power, easier cold starts, and improved fuel efficiency. Next month you’ll get to see 27 very special Corvettes equipped with fuel injection inside the Bone Student Center at Illinois State University. In addition to these special Corvettes, you’ll also get to see the original fuel injection unit from GM’s iconic CERV1 concept car.

Bloomington Gold also announced that Hagerty is the new presenting sponsor of the Gold Collection. Hagerty is the world’s largest provider of specialty insurance for classic vehicles. Hagerty representatives will be on site throughout the weekend in the Gold Collection to chat with attendees, hear about their cars, and answer questions.

The Gold Collection will be open 8am-5pm on Friday, June 21st and 8am-4pm on Saturday, June 22nd. At 4pm on Saturday, attendees can watch a parade of the fuelies as they leave the Bone Student Center.

For a special sneak preview of the Gold Collection, grab a $20 ticket to the annual Gold Gala which takes place Thursday, June 20th from 5pm-6:30pm. There, attendees will get to see all the cars before the show opens to the public while snacking on hors devours and sipping on assorted cocktails.

Bloomington Gold’s June 2024 event runs June 21st and 22nd on the campus of Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. Presale tickets are available now. Prices are $30 for a day pass or $55 for a weekend pass. Those costs go up by $5 at the gate.
