During the 2024 Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction, a highly custom 1968 Corvette Convertible ended up being one of the top selling cars of the auction and I doubt anyone would have predicted the price tag this 1st year C3 Corvette would ultimately garner.
However, when you read the catalog description, you can tell the builders basically threw everything at this car but the kitchen sink. Every component on the car has been upgraded, rebuilt, or enhanced. The Corvette gets its power from a 383ci Stroker V8 with a Holley Sniper fuel injected unit that’s mated to a TREMEC 5-speed manual transmission. There’s a coil-over suspension, Wilwood brakes, Flowmaster exhaust, and even a vintage air system now on the convertible.
Inside the car is a custom interior made from Six cowhides of Tomato Red Dani leather that were used to cover every piece of the interior, including the hardtop liner and the rear speaker enclosure. A Dakota HDX instrument system replaces the stock gauges and Dakota modules are installed to interface with the Holley Sniper system, individual tire pressure monitor system, a hidden digital AM/FM antenna and a Sirius satellite antenna. A modern Alpine Stereo offers Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay while the sound system includes four Rockford Fosgate 6.75-inch mid-woofers and 1-inch tweeters along with a 10-inch Rockford Fosgate custom enclosed subwoofer with a 1,000-watt Rockford Fosgate hidden amplifier, along with front and rear cameras.
And finally, we love the colors of the car with the base being White which contrasts well against the bright red interior. A Blue racing stripe is featured on the front hood while the rear end is finished in blue and trimmed with a red stripe. The car has two tops with a White hardtop and a blue convertible soft top. The wheels are custom-made Avant Garde AGL-67 models wrapped in Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperCar run-flat tires with electronic Bluetooth tire pressure monitors, which are displayed in the dash-mounted Dakota instruments. The tires have custom red lines burned into them.
So now that we’ve introduced you to the car, check out the video from the auction below. A female bidder is all over this car and she doesn’t let up until it hammers sold for $200,000. I like how she keeps lifting her bidder’s badge with each price increase and once the car is successfully hers, she high-fives the bid wrangler and then celebrates with her husband and friends.
With the buyer’s commission the out the door selling price is $220,000! That’s a fantastic price for a custom C3 restomod, which we don’t often see changing hands at these price levels.

I like her style , especially that look after signing invoice….. nice car, too
Tasty,very tasty. The 68 too.
Even though white isn’t a favorite Corvette color for me, I really like this hot looking 68. The blue stripes, red interior and custom wheels really set off the appearance of it. It’s super nice and a job well done!
