[VIDEO] Brink of Speed Test Drives Jesse Iwuji’s New 2024 Corvette E-Ray

There are many of us interested in the 2024 Corvette E-Ray who have yet had the opportunity to drive one, so we’re living vicariously through the YouTubers and new owners who have shared their driving experiences with the new Corvette. Our friend Mike from the Brink of Speed YouTube channel also has a new 2024 Corvette E-Ray on order, and he recently got to test drive the performance hybrid for himself.

Mike meets up with Jesse Iwuji who just took delivery of a new 2024 Corvette E-Ray and he has already driven it 1000 miles in just one day as he makes his way back to California. The intro is pretty funny as Mike throws every cliche we’ve heard about the new Corvette at him. “We’re about to drive the all new Electric Corvette,” says Mike who is then corrected by Jesse that it’s a hybrid. Mike then says about the Cacti exterior that “It’s Green because it’s an EV.” My favorite line is when Mike says, “it looks just like a Z06 without an engine!” Jesse keeps refuting Mike while keeping the gag going. That intro alone is worth the watch!

Jesse’s Corvette E-Ray is outfitted in Cacti Green with Natural interior, and he optioned the Carbon Flash accents, a transparent roof, and Carbon Flash wheels with Machined Edge. He also selected the ZER package with the Pilot 4S Michelins, and we love how the visible Carbon Fiber aero really contrasts well against the Cacti exterior.

Mike and Jesse spend some time discussing the car and walking all around it, even showing off the 495-hp LT2 V8. Inside the car is a 3LZ interior and he did the two-tone Natural/Black interior with sueded microfiber seating surfaces, while the carbon fiber steering wheel also is wrapped in sueded microfiber as well.

Once it’s time to drive the car, Mike can immediately feel the torque differences with this car versus the Stingrays and Z06s he has driven over the years. He says it’s very noticeable at low RPM. Jesse explains that this is a great car for everyday drivers as comes with tons of power and grip. He says it’s much different than previous Corvettes which, with their rear-wheel drive and loads of power, that could get you in trouble real quick. “This car won’t let you get in trouble real quick,” says Jesse.

After a few pulls and really exploring the car on the highway, Mike proclaims the E-Ray as the coolest Corvette he has ever driven, even after driving a bunch of Z06s. “I can’t wait to get this car,” says Mike. Jesse says “it’s the car for everybody so they can do a bit of everything. It definitely has a ton of fun in it, and people are really going to enjoy this thing.”
