[VIDEO] Jeep Trackhawk Challenges a Supercharged C6 Corvette Grand Sport to an Eighth Mile Throwdown

I’ve never really been a Jeep guy, but I like the way they wave to each other on the road (SAVE THE WAVE!), and I’ve always been impressed that someone had the gumption to suggest installing the Hellcat supercharged 707-hp motor and AWD into the Grand Cherokee SUV to create the Trackhawk. We’re not sure if that’s the specs of this Trackhawk which showed up in our YouTube feed today, but it sure did make a nice run at a C6 Corvette Grand Sport.

We’ve shared more than a few races against the Trackhawk, and it’s been a tough opponent over the years. But in the other lane is a supercharged C6 Grand Sport. Will those huge racing slicks make up for the Trackhawk’s all-wheel drive advantage? Let’s find out!

These two very different machines met at Greer Dragway in South Carolina last Thursday. The Corvette appeared to time the starting lights perfectly and leapt out in front at the start and never looked back, finishing with a time of 6.5 seconds at 106.75 mph vs the Trackhawk’s 7.12 seconds at 100.01 mph.

Only one run in this short one minute video and the Corvette takes it. ‘Till next time, Trackhawk!

  1. Nice, why do people waste time and money on 1/8 mile??? Drag racing is a 1/4 mile damn it!! Outlaw guys ok I guess because of tire limits, but otherwise what the hell is the point?? Same with the BS of 1000′ now with top fuel. BS!!

  2. Agree. My Nova has always been a 1/4 mile car with a 4 speed. I’ve run 1/8 mile, but go through top of 3rd gear (high 6’s @ 105), it’s just over too soon. 1/8 mile is all there is in my area (SoCal), so after running my 1968 L78 Nova for 55 years, I’m done. As for 1000′ I agree they needed to slow the cars a little, maybe with something like a (blower) restrictor plate, fuel line or pump size and even one mag would slow them down. just keep the track at 1/4 mile and leave the nitro alone.
