[VIDEO] C7 Corvette Z06 Takes On All Comers at Island Dragway’s Test and Tune

The news these days may be mostly about the new mid-engine Corvette, but this Arctic White C7 Z06 isn’t about to let its younger brother hog all the headlines.

The boys over at the ImportRace YouTube channel just dished up some interesting competition featuring said Z06 versus a wide variety of competition at Island Dragway in Great Meadows, New Jersey.

The video doesn’t offer any details on any changes that may have been proffered on any of the cars, so we’ll just have to be content with the final outcomes.

In the opening contest, the Corvette makes mincemeat of a Mercedes-Benz C-Class from the W204 third generation (2007-14) thanks to a much better reaction time, especially in the first round where the Z06 racks up a time of 11.00 seconds at 133.62 mph to the M-B’s 12.63 at 111.45. The German competition still wasn’t ready to throw in the towel and switched lanes for a rematch with similar results – 10.66 at 137.12 for the ‘Vette and 12.52 at 111.25 for the Mercedes.

Things didn’t turn out quite as well for the Corvette in a run against its city-slicker cousin, a black Cadillac CTS-V with the same LT4 engine but downgraded to 640 horsepower (at least from the factory). The Z06 is much slower off the line this time and falls 12.68 to 12.16.

Check out the rest of the video for another couple of matchups featuring a BMW M4 and a C6 Corvette going up against the Z06. You’ll have to watch to see who wins.
