If you’re planning to attend the Rolex 24 at Daytona this weekend, be sure to make some time to admire the Safety Car. Our favorite non-Corvette, the LT4-motivated Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, is getting a refresh for 2025, and Daytona is your first chance to see its facelift in the metal – or composites, as it were.

The beloved 668-horse RWD powertrain goes untouched as the newly announced upgrade focuses on the skin and brings the interior cluster in line with the rest of Cadillac’s lineup. Inside, the gauges and center screens have been merged into a single 33-inch panel, like you’ll find in the Escalade. Upfront, you’ll notice that the daylight running light “blades” now go unbroken from top to bottom, fixing one of the most widely held design grievances with the 2022-24 cars. Other than the illuminated treatment, Cadillac designers’ primary focal point in the 2025 5-V Blackwing is the “Mondrian pattern” etched into their creation’s mug. For readers that share a lack of culture with their author, said pattern and its name are cribbed from a 19th-century Dutch painter, which helps us nicely transition to the part of the 2025 Blackwing press release that made our collective ears perk up over here in Corvette Land.

The order guide for the newest version of the world’s greatest super sedan will feature two (and a half) all-new hues of exterior paint that would obviously look exceptional, were they applied to America’s Sports Car. The first of these is a shade of Carolina blue called Drift Metallic. As the name suggests, it was inspired by a common sight for those in the vicinity of a Blackwing: tire smoke, but it is also a nice callback to the sky blues favored by the glamourous big-wing Caddys and C1 Corvettes of the late ’50s and early ’60s – such as 1959’s Frost Blue Metallic. It is a distinct tone that leaves an instant impression while also being less in-your-face than the Rapid Blue that’s been with us since the C8 debuted half a decade ago.

The second of these jealousy-inducing paints has simply been dubbed “Typhoon.” It’s a stunning metallic turquoise/teal that shows different amounts of green depending on lighting conditions. It isn’t as blue as the Atlantis Metallic that we urged The General to rip off from BMW, but after one glance, we are sure that it could be sprayed on a C8 (maybe as the first-ever Z-exclusive?) to a similarly striking effect!

There’s a third color that’ll be new to the top-shelf V that had previously graced other Cadillacs. This Deep Space Metallic will be of interest to fans of the short-lived, but lovely Night Race Blue.

With that, we’ll throw it over to you, Corvette Nation. Which one are you hoping to hear the Corvette Team call out when the 2025 Corvette is unveiled? Take the poll and have your vote counted!

If the C8 only gets one of these new 2025 Cadillac paints, which color would you like to see?
