[VIDEO] Throttle House Reviews the 2024 Corvette E-Ray

I found a new 2024 Corvette E-Ray review on YouTube yesterday and was surprised to see it was from Throttle House with Thomas and James. Surprisingly, they put this up on their “EXTRA” channel and not the main Throttle House channel as “there are no production values” in any video that ends up on the EXTRA channel. We’re not sure why they made up that weird rule, but looking back, we see they weren’t part of the auto-journo round up that Chevy took to Colorado for the official ride and drive, so this is their first introduction to the new performance hybrid sports car.

So how did it go? Hard to say as we detected a bit of pessimism towards the new car. They aren’t sure who the car is geared for, or why someone would take it over the similarly priced Z06. As they said, they were blown away with the introduction of the C8 Corvette Stingray, and then again with the Z06 and its screaming motor. The E-Ray? Not so much.

A little bit of healthy skepticism is okay in a car review and as they take to the streets in the car, there are aspects of the E-Ray that they appreciate. And when compared to some other performance hybrids, the E-Ray would be their choice over that of the Acura NSX Type S which engineers benchmarked the E-Ray against.

This is an EXTRA Throttle House video so despite the lack of “production values,” you still get Thomas and James cracking each other up as they put it all together. Check it out below and you’ll see what we mean.

  1. Made it through about half the video, sorry, but these two are a little hard to listen to, plus my “Gaydar” kept beeping………(for the liberals out there, think “Radar”)

  2. Right. Because paying 40+ grand extra for an engine note that requires you to be above 4000 rpms to truly appreciate, is totally worth it. And paying 30 grand extra for AWD, a power bump and a brake upgrade isn’t. This is how you know the reviewers have lost touch with reality. Next thing they’ll be saying a 2g Viper makes a great daily driver, and the ride “isn’t that bad”!

  3. Like Ronnie I couldn’t tolerate watching all of this video either. From what I heard and saw of these two popsicle sticks I think I know why that one dude has the dirty knees.
