Zero Allocations for E-Ray in December 2023, but Stingray and Z06 Numbers Appear to Be Strong

It’s allocations day! Chevy dealers received their December 2023 “estimated shipping reports,” which is the number of Corvettes they will be able to match to customer orders for next week’s December order cycle that starts next week. Chevy will send down the constraint report on December 14th and then the matching of orders to allocations will begin.

We called around this morning and found that dealers were (mostly) happy with their Z06 numbers and the Stingray numbers appear to be very strong. Perhaps that’s due to the void of E-Ray production which was supposed to start originally in October and is now most likely pushed back into January or even early February based on some of the TPWs that Museum R8C buyers are receiving.

Also disconcerting is that for the fourth straight month, Chevrolet provided no marketing or ordering updates for its dealers. Chevy will usually keep them abreast of when a new Corvette like the E-Ray would start on the line for retail customers, and the fact that dealers aren’t being updated just goes to show how much in flux things are at the moment.

Speaking of the Stingray for a moment, this really is a great time to reach out to your local or regional Chevrolet dealer as quantities are up and demand is down just as we are heading into winter. We’ve been hearing of more and more dealers discounting their new Corvettes with some offered for $2K and $3K under MSRP.
