No Corvette Allocations for November 2023

Today was supposed to be allocation day for Chevy dealers, and several of those we reached out to all said their number for the month was 0. While we think that’s probably what most dealers received, we obviously can’t confirm that’s the case for everyone. If a dealer did receive an allocation, it won’t be accepted by the Order Bank until Thursday November 30th due to next week’s Thanksgiving holiday.

One of the dealers we spoke with also confirmed that this was the third month in a row where dealers didn’t receive any specific updates regarding Corvette.

The report that did go out to dealers talked about the order submission process and these dates listed below outlines the Dealer Order Submission Process (DOSP) for all Chevy models, not just Corvette:

The next allocations (or estimated ship reports as they are called) will come out on December 7th, and then the order cycle starts December 14th. For the first of the year, the next opportunity for allocations will come on January 18th with the order cycle happening on January 25th. These cars will probably be scheduled and built sometime in March or maybe early April.

You know we’ve been talking about the issues facing the Corvette Assembly Plant recently. Orders are being accepted but not scheduled in a timely manner, cars that are scheduled for specific build weeks are being pushed back, cars are being completed with missing parts, and while we’re in the 2024 model year, workers are still completing and shipping 2023s.

We’re hoping that no allocations this round would mean that Chevy is taking stock of their current situation with the Corvettes at Bowling Green and is working to address them. There should be enough orders in the pipeline to keep building cars. We would even accept a slow down in production, but it’s essential that we get back to finishing the cars that were started, and getting every 2023 Corvette out the door as quickly as possible. Then come back and worry about accepting new orders after the holidays.

We’ll have any updates as they become available. The next constraint report is expected to come out on November 30th should any Corvette allocations were granted.

  1. Absolutely amazing he said with sarcastic intonations. What in the wide wide world of sports is going on? It’s really getting hard to just take in the standard story about constraints and “no car will leave BG unless perfect…yak…yak” I think Chevy needs to start selling the “Vette in a Box” kit. Just a few thousand pieces. You get together with your buddies for a few weekends and assemble them. Think of the fun! Just like when you put together that new grill you bought – the one where the wife recommended you pay $25 for the fully-assembled version? Naw – this will be easy. Only 5,223 steps. You can check them off as you go. Problem solved! You’re welcome.

  2. I think that for cars that cannot be finished due to the lack of parts like carbon fiber appearance…they should allow the customers to get a reduction in price for those missing parts an let them acquire them from the aftermarket if they want to. No gloss black wheels? Big deal…that can get done aftermarket.

  3. These Constr8nts have gotten ridiculous. I was fortunate enough to get what I wanted on my Z06, but only received an allocation when I did because of the folks in front of me bypassing due to not being able to get something they wanted on theirs.
