If you’re looking to put a collectible Corvette under the tree this year, our friends at Assetto Marquee will be hosting a live online collector car auction from Dania Beach, Florida on Wednesday, December 6th. The auction is called “Another Day in Paradise” and we see three highly collectible Corvettes being offered. Visit AssettoMarquee.com to register to bid and see all of the vehicles offered for sale.

The three Corvettes consigned to the sale include a rare Aztec Copper 1956 roadster, a Roman Red 1962 Convertible, and a Tuxedo Black 1966 Corvette Sport Coupe.

1956 Corvette

1956 Corvette

Early Corvette fans will appreciate this 1956 Corvette offered in stunning Aztec Copper with a Beige interior. It’s one of only 402 produced in the rare Aztec Copper which was only available on the 1956 and 1957 models. Inside is the Beige interior which was originally spec’d on the car and the color combination of the two suggests that it’s one of just 166 to be built with these color specifications. This Corvette was the subject of a frame-off restoration and repaint back in 1985 and since then it has been stored in a purpose-built building for over 25 years.

1956 Corvette

The classic ’56 Corvette is powered by its matching numbers dual-quad 265/225-hp V8 engine and it’s mated to its original matching 2-speed Powerglide transmission. The mechanicals underwent restoration again in 2022 with receipts detailing the full extent of work. Since then, just 75 miles have been put on the odometer. The seller has an original 3-speed manual transmission available for an added fee.

Inside the car is the aforementioned Beige interior which was refreshed over the past few years by the current owner. New seats, door trim, carpets and dashboard were updated with Al Knock components. The interior gauges are original, but the speedometer has been rebuilt. The catalog listing says all the gauges work except the clock, and the car was optioned with a power folding top that is also currently inoperable at this time.

This 1956 Corvette is Lot # S2023-108 and its estimated sales price is between $70,000 – $100,000.

1962 Corvette

1962

While the 1962 Corvette was the last of the C1 generation, Chevrolet used it as a springboard for the upcoming 1963s. The 1962 models offered four engine options centered around the all-new 327 cubic inch engine block. Chevrolet had also revised the early Corvette’s signature coves one last time for the C1 generation with the addition of a singular vent on each side while the normally two-tone coves were painted body-color to match the rest of the car. The final update also saw the removal of the chrome trim which surrounded them.

1962 Corvette

This Roman Red 1962 Corvette with a black leather interior is a number’s matching example which has been modified to create the ultimate embodiment of the C1 generation. The engine of the car was restored in 2014 with 28K miles on the odometer and once completed, it featured the addition of rack and pinion steering, a power steering conversion, and power brakes. A Vintage Air system and a Retrosound Wonderbar radio were also added. Recently, the current owner removed the Carter AFB 4-bbl carburetors for a Holley Sniper electronic fuel injection system and a new electronic ignition courtesy of MSD. All of the original numbers-matching parts are included with the sale as well as all the records documenting servicing and restoration.

1962 Corvette

The 1962 Corvette is Lot # S2023-109 and is estimated to sell between $70,000 – $95,000.

1966 Corvette

1966 Corvette

Our final Corvette to highlight is a Black 1966 Corvette Sting Ray Sport Coupe which features a high level of restoration while maintaining its originality. It’s finished in its original Tuxedo Black (code 900), the rarest of the 10 exterior colors offered that year with just 1,190 built during the model year. Inside is an all-Black interior made up with original and restored parts, and it is the perfect complement to the Black exterior.

1966

This ’66 Sting Ray Coupe is powered by its original numbers matching L79 327/350-hp V8 motor which is coupled to its original numbers matching 4-speed manual transmission. Just 79,765 miles are showing on the odometer. Other options include aftermarket replica Kelsey Hayes wheels and it’s equipped with a side-mounted exhaust system. The engine pics show the car has retained its ignition shielding over the years, and we see the addition of a Vintage Air A/C system as well.

1966

While the 1966 Corvettes were the most popular of the midyear generation, finding an original Tuxedo Black sport coupe is fairly rare so don’t miss out on this chance.

The 1966 Corvette Sting Ray is Lot # S2023-113 and its selling estimate is between $70,000 to $105,000.
