[VIDEO] 70th Anniversary 2023 Corvette Z06 Sells for $247,500 at Mecum Dallas 2023

Chevrolet wrapped up the final builds for the 2023 model year just over a week ago, and the final 70th Anniversary editions rolled off the assembly line. While we don’t have the exact final figures yet for 2023 production’s total, our unofficial tabulating has put the number of 70th Anniversary Z06s just north of 1,000 units.

One of these 70th Anniversary Corvette Z06s was offered on Saturday during the Mecum Dallas 2023 auction and it ended up selling for big money. This 70th Anniversary was a Z06 Coupe wearing VIN 084 and it had just 7 miles on the odometer! The good news for the buyer is that the car was completed on January 24, 2023 and put into service on February 6th, which makes the factory warranty available to transfer to the new owner.

The car is said to be 1 of 30 White Pearl 70th Anniversary Coupes with Carbon Ceramic Brakes, and it comes in 3LZ trim with options including the Red Z06 intake, visible Carbon Fiber removable roof, Level 2 Carbon Fiber interior trim and Competition Sport Seats. The owner also had the car professional ceramic coated inside and out, and they left the original window sticker affixed for the next owner.

They say it only takes two to have an auction, and in the sale of this White Pearl Z06 Coupe, it came down between a bidder at the auction live while another phoned in his bids. The bidding for the Z06 moved pretty quickly to $200,000 before the bidding war started between the two parties. In the end, it looked the in-person bidder held his final bid just a second too long, allowing the auctioneer to hammer the sale closed at $225,000 for the telephone buyer. With the buyer’s commission, the total selling price was $247,500.

We’ll definitely call this Corvette Z06 well-sold! The original MSRP on the Z06 was $150,660 and so the buyer spent an additional $96,840 over the regular selling price. Of course, he got a 7-mile collectible Z06 with full warranty that he can drive right now, so we hope it was worth it!

It wasn’t just the Anniversary Z06 that scored big at Mecum Dallas. Five new 2023 Corvette Z06s were offered in the sale with three of them selling for greater than $200K each. Here are their prices which include buyer commissions, as well as the two High Bids for the non-selling C8Zs:

Lot S116.1 – 2023 Corvette Z06 with 70th Anniversary Sold for $247,500.
Lot S82.1 – 2023 Corvette Z06 in Torch Red Sold for $214,500.
Lot F97.1 – 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible in Arctic White sold for $203,500.
Lot F279 – 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible in Hypersonic Gray reached a high bid of $175,000.
Lot S180.1 – 2023 Corvette Z06 in Rapid Blue reached a High Bid of $150,000.

It’s going to be interesting watching the pricing of the Anniversary Corvettes moving forward due to the unique package and especially the one-year White Pearl metallic tri-coat paint.

Mecum’s next auction is the Indy Fall Special scheduled for October 5-7 with 1,000 collector vehicles consigned to the auction. Click here to view the Fall Special’s vehicle consignments at Mecum.com.

  1. Why would anyone waste their money buying from these auctions?? Buyer and seller fees are ridiculous and to high. Almost 25k in commissions?? Wow what a ripp-off. That much from the seller too, just for the so-called privilege of telling your buddies how you got screwed on your new Vette purchase. Really stupid way to buy a car. You could buy another whole car or two with the commission check, smfh.

  2. You need to remember that in that commission, that 10% commission, the sales tax and all the paperwork costs comes out of that so the commission made is not that big. Out of that $25,000 comes $15,000 sales tax Mecum is not making that much.
