They say that things are always bigger in Texas, so when the world’s largest auction company comes to town, you know there are going to be some great vehicles offered and smoking hot deals made over the four-day sale! Mecum Auctions will be offering 1,500 collector cars for sale during their visit to Dallas on September 20-23 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. The gavel action begins each day at 10 am CT. A total of 82 Corvettes have been consigned so far and we can expect a few more to come in as we get closer to the sale.
The Corvette docket for Mecum Dallas is incredibly well-rounded with plenty of classics covering the C1-C5 generations while also presenting several opportunities for buyers to bid on high performance late model Corvettes like two 2019 Corvette ZR1s and three 2023 Corvette Z06s including a 70th Anniversary Z06 Coupe offered at No Reserve. The current breakdown of consignments include:

1. F198.1 – 1978 Indy 500 Pace Car
A 1978 Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car Edition with 17 miles! One of 6,502 Pace Car Editions built and the window sticker is still attached. Two-tone Black and Silver exterior with Silver leather interior. 350 V8 engine with automatic transmission, factory air conditioning, power steering, brakes, windows and locks. Polished aluminum wheels, Goodyear GT Radial tires.
2. F219 – 2008 Corvette Z06 Coupe
2008 Corvette Z06 in Velocity Yellow with Black leather interior. Red brake calipers and polished alloy wheels. 7.0L V-8 engine mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. Odometer reads 5,371 miles. Highly original condition and same owner since 2009.
3. F279 – 2023 Corvette Z06 3LZ Convertible
C8 Corvette Z06 Convertible with Z07 Performance Package. Only 1,625 miles and in-service since 3/8/2023. Visible carbon fiber aero, Gray Satin Graphite aluminum wheels, with Bright Red calipers. Two-tone Red/Black leather GT2 seats, Level 2 Carbon Fiber and Stealth interior packages. Front Lift, Black exhaust tips, Stealth emblems. XPEL PPF, ceramic coatings.
4. S44 – 1980 Corvette Coupe
Black 1980 Corvette with Beige interior. L48 350/190 hp V8 mated to factory 4-speed manual transmission, and the odometer reads 3,596 miles. Held by first owner for over 40 years, this C3 Corvette is in highly original condition. Options include power steering, power brakes, factory A/C, leather interior, tilt/tele steering column, mirrored glass T-Tops, polished aluminum wheels. NCRS Top Flight in June of 2022 with judging sheets.
5. S73.1 – 1959 Corvette Convertible
Roman Red/Red 1959 Corvette with matching numbers 283/290 ci fuel injected V8 and 4-speed manual transmission. Radio and heater delete with off-road exhaust and 4.11 Positraction. Body-off restoration, most all factory correct type components including spare, jack, jack tools, trunk mat, trunk liner, rebound straps, seat belts, shifter, air cleaner, generator, distributor, hoses, hose clamps, fuel injection unit and filter, radiator, guide Y-50 mirror, owner’s manual, sales brochure and T3 headlights. NCRS Top Flight Award with certificate.
6. S100 – 1959 Corvette Custom Convertible
Custom 1959 Corvette built by Street Rods Only of Macon, IL. One of a kind build titled as 2007 assembled vehicle. Features a 5.7L Z06 V8 engine built by Street and Performance of Mena, AR. C4 polished suspension, custom gauges, one-off Boyd Coddington wheels, and more!
7. S108 – 1958 Corvette Convertible
1958 Corvette in Signal Red with White coves and Red interior. This is an unrestored example featuring a numbers matching 283/230 hp V8 engine mated to a 4-speed manual transmission. This Corvette has been cared for by the same family for over 30 years.
8. S136 – 1963 Corvette Split Window Coupe
Tuxedo Black 1963 Corvette Sting Ray Sport Coupe with Red Vinyl interior was delivered new to Land-Sharp Chevrolet in Kansas City. It has undergone a body-off restoration including stripping and refinishing the body and chassis. The Split-Window is powered by its matching numbers fuel-injected 327/360 hp V8 and mated to a Borg Warner T10 4-speed manual transmission. Positraction differential, 4-wheel independent suspension, 15-inch wheels with spinner-style wheel covers.
9. S155.1 – 1958 Corvette Custom Convertible
1958 Corvette Restomod, Street Shop frame with custom C7 suspension and Art Morrison rails. This restomod is powered by 525 hp LS3 V8 and coupled to a 4L70E automatic transmission. Custom Subterranean Metallic paint with Tan leather interior, Wise Guys seats, Classic Instruments gauges, forged Legend Series wheels and Wilwood master cylinder.
The Mecum Dallas 2023 Auction
Mecum’s Dallas Auction takes place September 20th – 23rd at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas. 1,500 collector vehicles are expected. Gates open at 8am each day. MotorTrend will have live TV coverage from Noon – 6 pm CT on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of the event.
