[PICS] Silver Flare 2024 Corvette E-Ray Was at Watkins Glen

I have never visited Watkins Glen but hope to someday as the historic track was literally the genesis behind Harley J. Earl’s decision to build a two-seat sports car that became the Corvette. And while we couldn’t be there this weekend to watch Corvette Racing, the newest Corvette in the C8 lineup, the performance hybrid Corvette E-Ray was on display at the Corvette Corral

To be honest, this is the E-Ray show car I would love to see in person as it was the same car used for January’s official launch photos. The build is a Silver Flare Convertible with the exclusive Electric Blue racing stripes. The car also features the 3LZ two-tone Blue interior, visible carbon fiber ground effects and carbon flash aluminum wheels.

Those attending the race also got a closeup of the E-Ray’s internals as the E-Ray cutaway chassis was also on display. The chassis shows where the front-mounted 160-hp electric drive motor is placed within the aluminum frame while a window in the center tunnel shows the 80 battery cells which makes up the 1.9 kWh battery pack.

The photos from the tweet come from GM Performance and Motorsports manager Jim Campbell. Jim also writes that fellow GM’ers Kirk Bennion, Mike Klakulak, Tim Campbell and Jeff Strausser were there at the corral and talked about all Corvette models including the new E-Ray.
